When I was younger I used to draw armies of dwarfs and warriors by designing costumes and weapons for each of them. The latest Kickstarter from Four Horsemen Studios, ‘Mythic Legions’, totally talks to that child in me.

It’s time to open up The Toy Chest!

Now the campaign is over and the project is fully funded, and then some. I mean seriously, it was THE ‘Most Successful Action Figure Line Funded’ Kickstarter in history, surpassing even their own previously funded Gothitropolis by $150,000. Fantastic Exclusive WinnerWhat is most amazing, are the amount of figures that became available as each stretch goal was met. I can only imagine some of the dioramas we will see popping up on Instagram and other social medias in 2016.

The final few days went by furiously fast as 4HS continued to unleash more add-ons, more figures, and revealed more info on the line! There are some amazing weapons available for your figures, including magic staffs, super swords, even banners for your soldiers. Each ‘Legion’ has their own insignia on a banner. Pretty cool stuff. Another great figure was revealed, the Fantastic Exclusive Winner. This (as of now) unnamed armored badass looks like he could be a warrior or a dark magic wielder. This is where those weapons packs you picked up come in handy. Speaking of weapons, we now know exactly what weapons will come with which figure, you can check that out here. Very nice assortments!

Out of everything that was available, I think my favorite is the Barbarian Builder Set. Like the 4HS said “It’s basically a deluxe figure, a weapon pack, and a helmet/ornament set all in one!“, and that’s why I bought it, customizability.

This is what makes the ‘Mythic Legions’ action figure line so special. Four Horsemen Studios hasn’t just produced a bunch of toys. They gave their line a world with a rich backstory, which will be told through a graphic novel. I’ve also heard that there is a role-playing game. So as you can see there are endless hours to be had enjoying your new collection. But honestly it’s all about the armor-swapping. Thank you Four Horsemen Studios for finally creating a collector’s series of action figures with this kind of ingenuity.
