WHY IS EVERYTHING ENDING? I feel like I’m going to break down and cry for my fallen comrades, although I’m sure my girlfriend would call me a wuss. So many ending this week, I’m in shock. Help me. Call the police, it’s Top of The Stack.

Moonknight 14Moon Knight #14 (Marvel)

Cullen Bunn (W) Ron Ackins (A)

I am a really big fan of this series, I feel like I’ve been saying things like that about every comic that has been at the bottom recently, that’s for a good reason. I think I’ve come close to removing any grime from my pull lists. That being said, I am worried about Bunn writing this series. I’ve enjoyed everything so far, but I’m just not completely sold on him. Maybe I’m just being hard on him, I’m sure it will be awesome.

Wayward 7Wayward #7 (Image)

Jim Zub (W) Steven Cummings (A)

This series is intense. It keeps surprising the living hell out of me. I just absolutely love the way they meld Japanese form and storytelling into a very westernized story. It feels really natural, being that the main character in the story is, well, a westerner. It’s thoroughly entertaining and I will let it continue, so says I.

Fantastic Four 645Fantastic Four #645 (Marvel)

James Robinson (W) Leonard Kirk (A)

It’s over. For how long, I have no idea, but for now it has gone the way of the Wolverine. I am really sad to see it go, but I know it won’t be for long. Maybe after this whole Fox thing washes over, who am I kidding. Please don’t take my Fantastic Four.

Inhuman 14Inhuman #14 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Andre Araujo (A)

This series is incredible, the world that they are building is rivaling X-Men. Wait, that isn’t the point is it? Either way, this series is great. Lots of new characters to watch develop and a fantastically powerful queen to bring her society together.

SHIELD 5S.H.I.E.L.D. #5 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Mike Choi (A)

This series is always a treat. Seriously, it manages to always pack a unique, new story in every issue. Not a whole lot of this arc building that I feel can congest the story and turn off new readers. Clean cut, fun adventures. This issue features Scarlet Witch, I wonder why?

Multiversity 2The Multiversity #2 (DC)

Grant Morrison (W) Ivan Reis (A)

Another final issue. Man this series is a head trip, that’s putting it lightly. My local comic shop clerk told me “Morrison needs to stop doing acid” when he was talking about this series, and I think he has a point. Either way, interested in seeing how this one turns out.

Bitch Planet 4Bitch Planet #4 (Image)

Kelly Sue DeConnick (W) Valentine Delandro (A)

I heard you once say you liked kickass women fighting for their lives. Oh, that wasn’t you? Well, shut up and read this comic, you’ll like it.

Theyre Not Like UsThey’re Not Like Us #5 (Image)

Eric Stephenson (W) Simon Gane (A)

Man this story is strange. I never really know how I feel about any of the characters. Not in a bad writing kind of way, quite the opposite. More in a “What the hell are they up to”, kind of way. The closer to the first arc, I’m hoping some mysteries will be solved, if not, it’s a fun ride even while blind.

Daredevil 15Daredevil #15 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Chris Samnee (A)

SEGWAY, speaking of blind. HEYO. Seriously though, this is another of the series that will be ending pretty soon and I am very sad. Especially after the show came out and got renewed for season two. I need some Murdock in my life. Guess it’s time to go back and read some of the classics. Try Man Without Fear and Born Again if you feel the same.

Secret Avengers 15Secret Avengers #15 (Marvel)

Ales Kot (W) Michael Walsh (A)

It’s ending. This spiraling, goofy, mindfuck is over. Well, today it’s over. Not as of the day I am writing this, today, but the today of the day you are reading this, being Wednesday. Or later, I don’t know. Leave me alone.

Rumble 5Rumble #5 (Image)

John Arcudi (W) James Harren (A)

I am really surprised by this series. I knew I would like it being that Arcudi is working on it, but with Harren on board, this series is just thecat’s pajamas. It’s wildly funny in a Thor meets Metalocalypse kind of way. Brutal.

All New Captain America 6All-New Captain America #6 (Marvel)

Rick Remender (W) Stuart Immonen (A)

You remember the time that Captain America got trapped in a dimension with Arnim Zola for twenty years and then had his child killed in front of him? Well, if you don’t, then you aren’t reading this comic and shame on you. If you do, here’s a cookie.

Outcast 8Outcast #8 (Image)

Robert Kirkman (W) Paul Azaceta (A)

I say a lot of words. I do. Lots of them. Intense is one of them. I say it a lot, because it’s a word. I say a lot of words. Sometimes it’s because I’m lazy, other times it’s because I’m lazy, then there are the times I’m lazy. This time I’m for real serious you guys. This comic is intense. If you like all those possession films all the kids are raving about now a days, this comic is for you, if not this comic may be for you. Do you get the hint? I’m lazy.

Batman 40Batman #40 (DC)

Scott Snyder (W) Greg Capullo (A)

Holy crap, Batman! (I would like to let everyone know that I was extremely tempted to leave the snippet about this comic at that first sentence. I will not, I have int…uh, something) The final issue of the Endgame arc. I am so fricken giddy for this comic to come out. I need to know about how the new Batman comes to be. GAH.

Avengers 44Avengers #44 (Marvel)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Mike Deodato (A)

I don’t feel right doing a write up on both of these comics due to the fact they are so essential to each other…

New Avengers 33New Avengers #33 (Marvel)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Kev Walker (A)

That being said, I will do my write up on the last one. Remember the lesson you just learned. This series is F@#%ing phenomenal. I can say that I’ve never read an ongoing from one of the major publishers that can stand up to this amazing feat of storytelling. I am extremely sad that both of these series are finally ending, and even though we get Secret Wars out of this. I will miss Hickman at Marvel. He did things that people will always remember with his multiple series. He is a writer that I would say I look up to, but that would be an understatement. I live in awe of his abilities. I am so glad he has his creator owned content, because I would be heart broken if there was nothing for him to write. He creates such complex stories and masters his own characters so well. He is brilliant, and I am genuinely sad.

And there we go, the longest write-up I’ve ever had on a comic. If you wanted to know why Avengers and New Avengers are in that order, I just liked New Avengers a little more, but towards the end the stories are indistinguishable. Please read this series if you haven’t. You will definitely not regret it. Until next time, stay smart.
