I know what you mean, but I’m actually fond of the changes. They’re cutting out a lot of “middle men”. Not going to mention any spoilers, so, let me see how to say this… I’m pretty sure you and I know what’s his role is. Which is interesting, and well used, cause they cut out the character who was originally in that role – not to mention, Gendry is more of a character and more likable in the show then in the book… so whatever his future, it is more impacting with the audience.

I don’t feel like they’re cramming… the exact opposite. They’re just removing a lot of “side stories”, or combining others into one, so as to not have to try and squeeze every little thing. I think this is also good in the big picture, because it will save the story, if Martin starts pulling a Jordan. HBO will ignore all the non-important facts and focus on what counts.
