In the midst of going to New York Comic Con this past weekend, a couple of movies hit the Box Office that I happened to miss out on amongst all the geekery. Last week’s winner, Gone Girl, brought in another $26.8million and took out newcomers Dracula Untold, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, and The Judge. The three of them premiered in the Top 5 with $23.5mil, $19.1mil, and $13.3mil respectively.

Last week’s close second, Annabelle, was able to rake in another $16.4million. Even though Gone Girl wouldn’t be considered a straight up horror movie, it’s interesting how good it’s doing up against the other titles. It just goes to show you how great a David Fincher movie really is. The rest of the Top Ten is below.

1. Gone Girl $26.8 million

2. Dracula Untold $23.5 million

3. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day $19.1 million

4. Annabelle $16.4 million

5. The Judge $13.3 million

6. The Equalizer $9.7 million

7. Addicted $7.6 million

8. The Maze Runner $7.5 million

9. The Boxtrolls $6.7 million

10. Meet the Mormons $3 million

Next week is a slew of new releases. Michael Keaton’s weird semi-superhero film Birdman, family friendly Guillermo Del Toro-produced The Book of Life, Brad Pitt’s tank film Fury, Michael Shannon in Young Ones, and the Nicolas Spark adaptation The Best of Me. My money is on Fury as it’s been a bit of time since we’ve seen Brad Pitt on screen and the film looks pretty great.

Do you think Fury will blow up the competition next week? Sound off in the comments and Stay Tooned for the next Weekend Roundup!
