To the surprise of no one at all, maybe Hugh Jackman, Pan was a giant bomb and made hardly any money to justify for it’s $150 million dollar budget. The world doesn’t give a crap about Peter Pan anymore unless Steven Spielberg has something to do with it, and Hollywood just needs to realize this. What the world does enjoy is Matt Damon getting lost on yet another planet and us having to go save him.

The Martian took in another $37 million and took the Top Spot for the second weekend in a row. Couple that with Hotel Transylvania’s $20.3 million; and both of them make up the biggest October movie releases in quite some time. The rest of the Top Ten are below and as you can see, they didn’t fare quite as well as Martian or Transylvania.

  1. The Martian $37 million
  2. Hotel Transylvania 2 $20.3 million
  3. Pan $15.5 million
  4. The Intern $8.7 million
  5. Sicario $7.4 million
  6. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials $5.3 million
  7. The Walk $3.7 million
  8. Black Mass $3.1 million
  9. Everest $3 million
  10. The Visit $2.4 million

Next week, we see Goosebumps make it’s way to the big screen. Jack Black is playing the author R. L. Stine, as he pulls a Jumanji and has to battle a bunch of creatures that escape from his books. The film is getting great reviews and looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Will it be able to take down The Martian, find out on the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
