We all knew that the final Hunger Games film, Mockingjay Part 2, would premier at #1 at the Box Office this weekend. The real question would be: just how much will it make? Taking in $101 million dollars over this past weekend, it puts it at the lowest opening in the entire franchise. Given that the last book is the weakest and one that I frankly hated the ending for; it doesn’t surprise me. The first Mockingjay movie was a low in of itself, and I think that turned a lot of fans off as to what to expect from this new one.

The newcomers of the week went to The Night Before and Secret in their Eyes. The films have already earned $10.1mil and $6.6mil respectively. Given the high ratings of The Night Before and we’re approaching the Holidays more; there’s a good chance that film could pick up even more money. You can see the rest of the Top Ten below.

1. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 $101 million

2. SPECTRE $14.6 million

3. The Peanuts Movie $12.8 million

4. The Night Before $10.1 million

5. Secret in Their Eyes $6.6 million

6. Love the Coopers $3.9 million

7. The Martian $3.7 million

8. Spotlight $3.6 million

9. The 33 $2.2 million

10. Bridge of Spies $1.9 million

Next weekend, Disney will release The Good Dinosaur. There’s a good chance the film will earn $60mil and dethrone Katniss and the rest of the Hunger Gam-ers. Will this upset happen so fast? Find out on the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
