With the final of The Hobbit films comes out, it was no doubt that The Battle of the Five Armies would be the #1 film this past weekend. Since it’s debut on Wednesday, the film has grossed $90.6million domestically. Worldwide, the Peter Jackson film has took in $355.6million! Though it was critically chastised, and I personally didn’t enjoy it; it’s still a huge hit for New Line and Warner Bros.

The other newbies of Annie and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb didn’t do all that bad; but it was a waste for either of them to even try and go up against a bunch of Dwarves. They each brought in $17.3million and $16.3million respectively. You can see what the others in the Top Ten did below.

1. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies $56.2 million

2. Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb $17.3 million

3. Annie $16.3 million

4. Exodus: Gods and Kings $8.1 million

5. The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 1 $7.8 million

6. Wild $4.2 million

7. Top Five $3.6 million

8. Big Hero 6 $3.6 million

9. The Penguins of Madagascar $3.5 million

10. P.K. $3.5 million

This Holiday Weekend should be interesting as we have Angelina Jolie‘s film, Unbroken, Tim Burton‘s newest movie, Big Eyes, and fantasy/musical, Into the Woods. My money is on The Hobbit taking the win again, but I think that Into the Woods will give it a run for it’s money if the reviews are good. I personally find the film too look OK, I am a fan of the musical; but the trailers don’t do much for me. Meryl Streep is always good to see though, so that’s usually worth the price of admission.

Stay Tooned for the next Weekend Roundup to find out what happens and have a happy and cinematic Holiday!
