Many would say that a win is still a win, no matter how you got there. That’s kind of the case with this weekend’s Box Office report and 50 Shades of Grey. The film made it’s debut last week with $85.1million and this week dropped dramatically to $23.2. Like I said, still Number One, but this may be it’s last week in that position.

Kingsman: The Secret Service stayed in spot Number Two as it took in another $23.2 million. I think this is fantastic given that it’s an R-Rated action film, and it puts it’s grand domestic total at a respectable $67.1 million. The big failure of the weekend belongs to Hot Tub Time Machine 2. The movie premiered in the #7 spot and only made $5.8 million. The film is a critical and financial hit and most likely will fall off the Top Ten entirely next week.

You can see the rest of the films at the top of the Box Office below.

1. Fifty Shades of Grey $23.2 million

2. Kingsman: The Secret Service $17.5 million

3. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water $15.5 million

4. McFarland, USA $11.3 million

5. The DUFF $11 million

6. American Sniper $9.7 million

7. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 $5.8 million

8. Jupiter Ascending $3.7 million

9. The Imitation Game $2.6 million

10. Paddington $2.3 million

Next week, will bring two films that could shake things up a bit. First, is the horror film Lazarus Effect with Olivia Wilde. The plot is a bit like Flatliners, where these medical students bring a dead person back to life; but it looks good. Focus is the other film and it has Suicide Squad stars, Will Smith and Margot Robbie as con artists. My money is on that film based off of stardom alone, but Lazarus Effect is likely the better film of the two.
