The Kung Fu Panda franchise is going strong as it takes the #1 spot in the Box Office for it’s second weekend in a row. The film managed to bring in a another$21 million and beat out it’s competitors by a landslide. This pretty much ensures we’ll continue to see those animated films starring Jack Black until he gets it’s on Netflix series voiced by different actors. Come on, it’s inevitable.

The newcomers of the week were Hail, Caesar, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and The Choice. The films took in $11.4mil, $5.2mil, and $6.9mil respectively. Given that the first two cost more than $20mil to make a piece, they’re both considered flops. In fact, this is the lowest opening of a Coen Brothers movie ever, and is only showing a C rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The rest of the Top Ten are below.

1. Kung Fu Panda 3 $21 million

2. Hail, Caesar! $11.4 million

3. The Revenant $7.1 million

4. Star Wars: The Force Awakens $6.9 million

5. The Choice $6.1 million

6. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies $5.2 million

7. The Finest Hours $4.7 million

8. Ride Along 2 $4.5 million

9. The Boy $4.1 million

10. Dirty Grandpa $4.1 million

Next week, The Merc With a Mouth will get his Box Office vengeance when Deadpool hits the screens. The movie is currently sitting at 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though that number will change when the film actually premieres. Just how much will it make and will it be able to unthrone the Kung Fu Panda? Find out on the next edition of Weekend Roundup.
