Looks like fifth time is the charm when it comes to the Mission Impossible franchise. The latest entry, Rogue Nation, not only premiered in the Top Spot at the Box Office this weekend; but it also was the second biggest opening for the series yet. The film brought in $56million, and put it far above the rest of it’s competition.

In the second spot was the new Vacation movie, that opened up on Wednesday, but it didn’t help it make any extra money. The film took in just over $20million in it’s five day debut, and will be sure to drop into obscurity after this weekend. The rest of the Top Ten is below.

1. M:I – Rogue Nation $56,000,000
2. Vacation (2015) $14,850,000
3. Ant-Man $12,619,000
4. Minions $12,155,000
5. Pixels $10,400,000
6. Trainwreck $9,694,000
7. Southpaw $7,519,000
8. Paper Towns $4,600,000
9. Inside Out $4,517,000
10. Jurassic World $3,757,000

This upcoming weekend we see the return of the Fantastic Four on the big screen. The Josh Trank reboot, is not allowed to have any reviews until the day before the film premieres this Friday, so either Fox is scared or Trank REALLY wants to keep the movie hidden. I’m hoping that it blows everyone away, but the latest trailers haven’t done anything to get me excited. See if the first superhero family is good enough to take down Tom Cruise in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
