A truly sad day in the world of Geekdom. Leonard Nimoy, the man who brought the character of Spock to life in the Star Trek series, passes away at 83 years old. The actor has been one of the most prolific stars of Hollywood for decades and this is a huge loss to anyone who has ever been a fan of Science Fiction, cinema, television, and more.

I have been watching Star Trek since I’ve been a child and Nimoy was one of my favorite television characters of all time. I love that J. J. Abrams brought him back in the new Trek films and his loss really hits home. He will be sorely missed, but I am glad that he’ll be continuing his journey of the Final Frontier in the great beyond.

You lived long and prospered Mr. Nimoy and you will be missed by all of us here at DFAT.
