I’ve been a huge fan of David Wain ever since I watched MTV’s ‘The State.’ His humor is completely irreverent and he makes the movies he wants to make. If you haven’t caught last years, They Came Together, you really should; as it was one of, if not, the funniest movie of 2014. My favorite film of his happens to be Wet Hot American Summer, and I’m thrilled that a television series based off of the movie is coming to Netflix.
Below, we have our first teaser for the new show, and I have to say that it has me very excited. Just to see the return of all these characters to Camp Firewood is so completely ridiculous, it fits perfectly in line with the original film.
Coming back will be: Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter.
Other returning actors are H. Jon Benjamin, Nina Hellman, A.D. Miles, Marisa Ryan, Kevin Sussman, and David Wain New cast members will include Michaela Watkins, Josh Charles, John Slattery (Mad Men), Randall Park (The Interview), Lake Bell (In a World…), Jayma Mays (Glee), Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, and Richard Schiff.
Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will premiere this summer on Neflix for an 8 episode run.
