If you believe in the old saying that ‘Love conquers all’, then this is not the episode you should be watching. Its Fatal Attraction meets Gotham. Barbara makes her move on her ex-boyfriend and Lee faces the other woman. If you’re a guy in a relationship that has an ex-girlfriend that just won’t go away, then this is definitely the episode you want to watch. Talk about a love triangle from hell. Theo is making a play for Wayne Enterprises by convincing Bruce that signing over his family company to him will cut out the infection and bad parts and make Wayne Enterprises great again.
Barbara just pops right into the GCPD demanding to talk to Gordon alone. It is a very uncomfortable situation for him because Lee is there. She express her opinion and warns him that Barbara is playing him. He realizes that Barbara is playing him, but he needs to find out what she knows about Galavan and anything he can use against him. Barbara is gloating over the fact he needs her and she has him over a barrel. She agrees to tell him everything about Galavan, but he needs to come with her to a specific location. Lee doesn’t like it, nor does Bullock and Barnes, but Gordon convinces them it is a risk he’ll have to take to bring down Galavan. They go with his decision
Galavan talks to Bruce about Wayne Enterprises and how it is corrupt from the inside. He wants to help, but by doing so he needs major control of the company. He needs Bruce’s majority shares to gain control. In return, he will give everything about his parent’s murder to him. He will have closure as to who killed his parents and why. He asks Alfred for advice about what he should do. Alfred can only tell him Thomas and Martha Wayne’ legacy is him and no one else. Bruce breaks down and tells Alfred that he just wants everything to go away: his parent’s murder, and the corruption in Wayne Enterprises. He thinks that Galavan has the power, the strength to clean up the company and help shed light on his darkest moment, his parent’s murder.
While Gordon is escorting Barbara to her destination, they get ambushed. Barbara escapes and Gordon is drugged. He wakes up in a church tied up to a chair. Barbara is wearing a wedding dress. She has a priest and a couple witnesses that are tied up as well. Lee is there and tied up too. Barbara starts her intervention with Gordon trying to make him understand that she and he are the same and that Lee will never understand what we have. It’s a free for all about Gordon’s shady deals with the Penguin and how he got his job back. Barbara tries to make Gordon into a not so nice guy, but Lee knows everything he did. Her plan is not working, so she tells Lee that Gordon still has feeling for her. Gordon is finally able to get free and point a gun at Barbara. Bullock storms in with the GCPD behind him. Barbara escapes and runs away. Gordon finds her and tries to talk her off the ledge. She tells him that Mayor James is still alive and is held up in Chinatown before she jumps out of the window. Gordon gives this information about Mayor James to Barnes. This is the ammunition he needs to put Galavan behind bars.
Bruce is at Galavan’s office preparing to sign over his company when he has a change of heart. Gordon storms in and places Galavan under arrest for the kidnapping of Mayor James. Galavan throws a file into the fire that contains all the answers about the Wayne Murders. Bruce is distraught and questions his decision to not give what Galavan wanted.
Nygma is in the woods trying to dispose of Ms. Kringle’s body when a hunter drops by. He figures out what Nygma is doing but Edward kills him before he can go to the police. Now Nygma has two bodies to dispose of. He finds a trailer alone in the woods. Before he says something, Penguin comes out of the trailer in a mess. He looks terrible and asks Nygma for help.
The Mayor is found, I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. He is still corrupt as hell though. The relationship between Lee and Gordon is on shaky ground after their reunion with Barbara. Is there relationship is in jeopardy? Now that Galavan is under arrest, is his plan of taking over Gotham finished? We shall see.
