Penguin is one step closer to finding his mother, but unfortunately Butch betrays him. Tabitha did a whammy on him and is now free of Penguin’s hold. He turns his loyalty towards Galavan who happens to be there at the warehouse where Penguin’s mother is kept behind bars…..it’s a trap!!!!! Penguin tries to use his pathetic pleas to worm his way out of this, but Tabitha kills the mother and dies in his arms. Theo orders Butch to kill Penguin, but he escapes, injuring Theo and Butch and vows to kill Theo for the death of his mother.
Nygma is having nightmares for what he did to Kristen. His dark alter ego plagues his mind and dreams. To make matters worse, the dark side of Nygma hid Kristen’s body and amuses himself by placing riddles for Nygma to find. In reality he is fighting himself trying to suppress his darker self, but it seems that the Dark Nygma is starting to dominate and overtake him. My opinion is I like the darker version of him. He is more charismatic and cunning, plus he looks more put together. He is closer to the villain that we know.
Theo makes his move as the mayor of Gotham. He uses his encounter with Penguin and injuries to use the GCPD as a police force for martial law. He wants to hunt down the Penguin for his attack on him. He also orders Harvey Dent to seize all Oswald’s financial assets and properties and the whereabouts of his known associates. Gordon is not happy about this, but Barnes agrees and supports Theo’s plan. Theo confronts Gordon about the martial law. Gordon believes that the people need to trust us and not put them in harm’s way.
Selina sees the real side of Bruce’s new main squeeze, Silver St. Cloud when she visits him at the Manor. Silver is there acting like a complete princess and invites Selina for lunch with Bruce and her. But when Bruce leaves them alone, Silver turns into something completely different. Calling Selina gutter trash and threatening her to stay away from Bruce, she gives us a not so pretty picture of who she really is. During their lunch, Selina makes a bold move and calls out Silver right in front of Bruce calling her a two face slut. I applaud Selina for having the balls to do that, but it might bite her in the butt down the road. Like a drama queen, Silver pretends to be offended and storms out crying. Selina then tries to warn Bruce that she is bad news, but he wouldn’t hear it. He tells her to leave and to never come back and that their friendship is over. Bruce finds Silver back at Theo’s place. He apologizes for Selina’s behavior and they make up, but Selina watches them through the window. Silver sees her, kisses Bruce and smiles.
Gordon is having trouble with Theo’s story that Penguin met up with him to ask him to join his gang and he refuses. He and Bullock visit Butch at his new hangout with a new crew. Victor Zsasz is there as well under the orders of Penguin. Butch has to make a choice, get interrogated by Gordon and get protection or face Penguins wrath. He opted the latter. He tells Gordon about Penguin working for Galavan under blackmail, the arson jobs with the Pike Brothers, the staged assassination tempts on Theo’s life, and the shakedown and murders of the potential mayoral candidates. Victor is getting restless and starts firing in Butch’s hangout. Butch slips away while Gordon and Bullock start a fire fight with Victor.
Nygma is on a scavenger hunt to find Kristen’s body before anybody else does. One by one her body is reassembled and it leads him to the medical lab in the GCPD. But Lee walks in and asks about Kristen and if he has seen her. He gets very nervous, but is able to find an excuse about her whereabouts. She leaves, but the Dark Nygma appears egging him on and forces him to admit that what he is doing is exhilarating and exciting. Nygma fights it but gives in and is starting to enjoy this new side of him. This new side of him smiles while cutting up Ms. Kringles body for disposal.
Gordon is at the victory celebration of Theo’s mayoral appointment as security. He fears that Penguin will retaliate, he is right. Using his face and clothing, the Penguin hides in a massive group of look a likes to crash the party. It is a fire fight with the GCPD and Penguin’s army. Tabitha kills Martinez, one of the members of the Strike Force. Gordon rushes Theo to safety but the real Penguin catches up with them. Theo tells Gordon to shoot him. It’s a Mexican standoff between Penguin and Gordon. Penguin tells him that Theo killed his mother. Gordon gives Penguin the satisfaction that he knows that Theo is bad. Tabitha took out Penguin before he spills everything about Theo and what his true intentions are and it involves Bruce Wayne and his family. Penguin escapes, Theo is alive, and Gordon confirms his worst fear that Theo is corrupt and no good. He confronts Gordon about his attitude. He tells Galavan that he will do everything to stop him.
Did Gordon just declare war on the mayor? Yes…..yes he did. That may not be the wisest of decisions, but we all know he can’t just stand by and watch his city from being destroyed.
Next week it’s a romantic reunion between Gordon and his crazy ex-girlfriend, Barbara. How is it going to end? We shall see.
