This week we found out what Alexandria is all about, well, at least what they want us to believe it’s all about. I’m not sure what to make of it yet, but I actually think they’re pretty much true to their word. And it seems to me like the reason they brought in Rick and our group is because they needed real protection against the Walkers. Everyone there seems to be a little soft, mainly because they’re living in luxury, they need people who have lived through it.

The Good:

Walking-Dead-Feature-620x400– Alexandria has electricity, running water and all the amenities you could ask for to live a normal cushy life. Rick showered, shaved and got a hair cut from the cute girl down the street. Michonne brushed her teeth for 20 minutes. Carl played video games. I mean, it seems like this would be the place to be!

– Deanna seems to be alright. She was a politician before all of this started, found her way to Alexandria and her husband built the wall up around it. It seems like a pretty secure place, I’m just wondering why they feel they need our group there. Is there danger or are they just being cautious?

– Carol’s behavior is hilarious! Her interview where she said she misses Ed and that she just feels like she’s everyone’s den mother since she really doesn’t have much else to offer. The way she handled her gun when they were handing them over, volunteering to make dinners for the elderly. If you ask me, she’s playing it smart. She knows that there might be an issue, and she doesn’t want anyone suspecting that she might be one of the strongest there. Smart moves Carol!

– When Rick has a chance he gets out of the community to see if he can get his gun that he hid in a blender, but it’s gone. I really have no clue who would have taken it. I guess someone could have been watching him, or maybe there’s people outside the walls that took it. While he’s out there a small cluster of Walkers come up, and Carl just so happens to find Rick. They take them out, like usual, but it almost seemed like they needed it. They needed to get slapped back into their reality for a minute to remind them that they can’t get soft in there.

– Everyone has been given jobs, but Rick and Michonne are made Constables, which puts Rick right back to Sheriff Rick, and now Sheriff Michonne too. I’m not sure what to think about this. Yes, they would be the two people I would want defending me and my town, but this Deanna lady doesn’t KNOW them. Even though she’s had them followed and seems to have done her due diligence in getting information, she still doesn’t know them. Could you appoint someone with that job after only meeting them a day ago? I’m not sure I could.

– At the end, when Rick is talking to Carol and Daryl about everything, Carol brings up (again) about how being there could make them weak. Rick doesn’t agree, they obviously have questions about what life there will be like, and Rick just lets them know that if it doesn’t work out with the people there, they’ll just take it from them.

The Bad:

– Aidan. I do not like Aidan! What a douche bag that guy is. First of all, talking down to Tara, Glenn and Noah like they’re children, handing them tiny hand guns and treating them like they’re the luckiest people in the world because they get to play with him, come on! Then, when they get out into the woods for their practice session, he tells them about how he has a Walker tied to a tree and they’ve been practicing on him when they get out there, because he killed four of their friends. Well, he almost killed Tara too because he got out and you wouldn’t just take him out you dumb ass! Luckily he didn’t get her, but he did get his skin ripped off when she was trying to get him off of her. Seriously, those make up artists are amazing! On top of that, he gets into a fight with Glenn. Glenn put him in his place though, with a good jab to the mouth. I hate that guy, I hope he gets bitten in the next episode.

– I don’t like seeing Daryl so uncomfortable. It just seems like he feels so out of place there.

– As much as I like the idea of Alexandria, and am really hoping that it’s a good place, with good intentions, I don’t think our group will last too long there. I don’t think they can. Not because the people are bad, but because they can’t stand the normalcy.
