This week Shredder uses Karai against the Turtles and their human friends. The brain worm that Shredder has been using on Raph and the Mutantanimals last time is taking over Karai’s mind and brainwashes her into obeying his every command. She intends to use her new mutated venomous poison and Shredder’s manipulative brain worm to defeat The Turtles once and for all.
Everyone is trying to get over the Krang invasion and their return to normal life. Casey and April use this time to rekindle their relationship by going out on dates trying to keep their mind off of Shredder and the Krang. But that is short lived when Karai ambushes Casey and April and infect them with a very lethal dose of venom. Her father takes April to Splinter hoping that he can save her. Casey gets infected and sends out a distress signal to the Turtles for help.
Splinter uses an ancient healing mantra called the Healing Hand, to slow the poison from taking over April, but it is only temporary. Raph gets the SOS signal from Casey and he and Mikey go after Casey and bring him home. Unfortunately, Karai springs a trap when they try to rescue him. They are infected as well. Leo gets a call from Karai telling him to go to some old train stop with Donnie, or else his brothers and Casey will die a slow death from the venom. He has no choice but to do as she says.
Leo and Donnie meet with Karai at the train stop, but they are infected with the poison by ingesting it through the water and the air around them. Using Splinter’s ancient Healing Hand, Leo is able to slow the poison in his body from consuming him. He battles Karai in a sluggish vegetative state until he is able to counteract the poison by letting the Healing Hand totally take over his body. He is able to defeat Karai and save his brothers and friends. Unfortunately, Karai got away.
Both Splinter and Leo were able to save his brothers, Casey and April from the poison with the Healing Hand. Being the leader of this group, Leo was able to stop Karai from destroying his family. It is a bittersweet victory, because Karai is still out there and under Shredder’s influence.
Shredder has gotten back Karai and now more than ever she is very dangerous. Last time, the Turtles were able to break through Raph and the Mutanimals from Shredder’s mind controlling serum, but it is going to take everything they have to save her. Karai’s strength is equaled maybe more than your average ninja. She was an extremely tough adversary before and now with all her advance ninja skills and her venomous mutation, she will be Leo and the Turtles greatest challenge.
