A sharp metallic clang echoes through the room. There standing opposite you is a metal discus, patterned with the shades of the flag you were born under. Heat in your palm. The industrial smell entering, painting the walls of nostrils. A small man stands behind a dented shield. Worry in his eyes, fear in his heart. He drops it to the floor, the fluorescent light runs around the nickle sized dents littering it. Clang. He is off, already steps away from the door. I fight the voice in the back of my head. I no longer no this man. My hand levels with my eye, an arms length away a barrel cocked.
Astonishing Ant-Man #3 (Marvel)
Nick Spencer (W) Ramon Rosanas (A)
So, I’ve said that I really love this series. I still do, but I am beginning to get to a point where I may want to consider moving on. Yes, this relationship is fun, but where do I see us in a year, in five years. This may not be a healthy relationship.
Batman & Robin Eternal #12 (DC)
Ed Brisson (W) Fernando Blanco (A)
Hey, you know that thing that we’ve been hinting at for the entirety of the series to this point? We may actually get some pay off in this next issue! Isn’t that just exhilarating?
Nameless #6 (Image)
Grant Morrison (W) Chris Burnham (A)
Okay, so I could have sworn that this comic was already over. I’m not sure why I thought that, but I did. You can imagine my surprise when it pops back up on my pull list after what seems like an eternity. Hopefully, this conclusion won’t be confusing enough to make me think the series isn’t over when it really is.
Bloodshot Reborn #9 (Valiant)
Jeff Lemire (W) Butch Guice (A)
Something wicked this way comes. The finale to this arc is here and I can only see something dark coming from its pages. I am extremely excited to see where Lemire takes this story.
Astro City #30 (Vertigo)
Kurt Busiek (W) Brent Eric Anderson (A)
Interesting switch up in this story. You know those pesky alien races that always pop up in comics to battle our heroes; The Brood, The Kree, The Skrull, New Gods, etc. Well, what do they think about the situation. A world where our heroes are really the most hated villains. Evil is just perspective.
Jupiter’s Circle Vol 2 #2 (Image)
Mark Millar (W) Wilfredo Torres (A)
Life moves fast. Generations grow up and often times they forget what it is to be young. Besides the romanticized picture they’ve painted, they forget the troubles, the pain, heartache, constantly shifting horizons. What happens when a hero begins to forget? What happens when they are left behind?
Daredevil #2 (Marvel)
Charles Soule (W) Ron Garney (A)
I loved the first issue of this. It was intense and left a lot to be explored in Matt Murdock’s new life. I am fully on board with this series. You cannot imagine how happy it makes me to be able to say that.
Outcast #14 (Image)
Robert Kirkman (W) Paul Azaceta (A)
Satan hides in the shadows. I mean he does when he wants to. Apparently this time he just feels like fucking with people. No hiding, just bastardry,
Deadly Class #17 (Image)
Rick Remender (W) Wesley Craig (A)
Happy this comic is returning. I seriously think that Remender is one of my favorite current era writers. I eat up everything he puts out like it’s some sort of delicious pudding cake. I know I said it last arc, but maybe this arc will get more into, you know, the assassin’s school all the students attend that has been suspiciously absent from the story. I don’t know, maybe.
Saga #32 (Image)
Brian K. Vaughan (W) Fiona Staples (A)
This is supposed to be the part where I explain why this is a comic that you need to read. Why this comic, above all else is worth your money and time. Instead I am going to assume you are reading it. Here we go. Isn’t it amazing, seriously, are you excited for this next issue? Me too!
