You saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier this weekend at least twice, right? RIGHT?! Well if you haven’t had the chance, go now. Get in your car, go watch it, and come back. I’ll be waiting.
Awesome, right?! Hydra sleeper agents have infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. for years, YEARS! Now. The real question for you Marvel Cinematic Universe fans out there is: what happens next for our friends on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?? The Uprising arc began last week and acted as a great lead into Cap 2, but where is it leading us? From what I understand the fallout from the events of Cap 2 will lead right into the season finale. With the dissolution of S.H.I.E.L.D., can there even be Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. anymore? We were promised “game-changing” events, and we got them. The whole Agent Sitwell situation was pretty entertaining in Cap 2. So where does this lead us? Who’s going to be the heel on the show? We have been promised that at least one major character will be revealed as being part of the whole Hydra plan. Who do you think, or want it to be? Next question is, do we now know who the Clairvoyant is? I am a firm believer that Arnim Zola was revealed to be the Clairvoyant in Cap 2, due to his algorithm being able to predict what people can do in the future. AND as we found out in last week’s episode the Clairvoyant was someone working from within S.H.I.E.L.D. and has no real “powers”. Will Hydra and perhaps Zola show up on the show? I can see something like this happening. Hydra will at least be a thorn in our heroes’ sides for the rest of this season, and it would be ridiculous not to show or even mention Zola.
BUT what if the show were to be canceled? This would be the easiest and cleanest way to resolve the story, well besides that whole blue alien thing. I would rather see the team go underground and start running missions for Nick Fury, ala Secret Avengers, or Secret Warriors. Or how about Secret Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., too much? There’s a new world order on the way, an Avengers world order. That will lead directly into a Civil War.
Psssst. (Hail Hydra)
