Hello faithful Towelites and welcome to 2018! 2017 was kind of a shite year and we are hoping for much better this time around. Though the overall feeling of 2017 was ass, there were some high points in the realm of Geekly culture. Thank the Gods we are able to experience at least ALL OF THAT when times are at their worst! One of OUR personal highpoints was launching this new site that you see before your eyes! We hope that you will enjoy DFAT into the New Year and beyond!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Without a doubt one of the the most decisive movies of 2017. Splitting a “fan”-base down the middle and causing way too many social media arguments. I personally loved this film and I have plenty to say when it comes to hating on it, I just choose not to. #thisisstarwars

Mezco One:12 Collective Classic Superman
This is the Superman action figure that I have been waiting for. No matter the amount of amazing Batman, Wonder Woman, Teen Titans figures you throw at me there is no other space on my shelf than for the big blue boyscout himself. Mezco has created a line that pulls from nostalgic and modern collecting and mixes it up into one amazing product! If you haven’t had the pleasure of this toy line I highly suggest you check it out! #hope

Injustice 2
What would you do if I told you I was a DC fanboy? Not the kind that acts like an asshole online, a keyboard warrior that can’t accept change. I was a huge fan of the first installment of Injustice and I couldn’t wait for more! I knew that once Injustice 2 was announced that we would see some major improvements to the game and DAMN we did! The depth of this game is hands down amazing and takes the fighting game genre to a whole new level! Playing as your favorite DC character comes second to the great mechanics of this game!!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi by John Williams
Even though I want to give Portgal the Man a lot of love when it comes to music this year, I must concede. John Williams has brought movies alive to me over the years. To this day he is the one composer who has had the most influence on me. It’s not just Star Wars, but so much more. From Jaws to Indiana Jones to Superman. This man has done it all! I grew up on William’s themes and no other man, band or whatever has had the influence that he has. The music for the end of The Last Jedi is straight up amazing! Thank you John Williams for filling my imagination with music.

Dark Nights Metal
I saved the best for last. Scott Snyder has delivered some of the best storytelling this side of the new millenium. Endorsed by Stephen King himself, Snyder has a darkside to his writing that is unparalleled in today’s culture. This year Snyder reunited with artist Greg Capullo and presented us one of DC’s most f*$#% narratives yet! Dark Nights has been a mind-f*#& since the first issue hit and it has been in heavy demand on the storefront. DC Rebirth has been a breath of fresh air and I am glad that the publisher is hitting such high notes!
What will 2018 bring? I guess we will have to hang around and see!
