Actor Matt Ryan (Layer Cake) has been officially cast by NBC to portray the cigarette smoking, wise-cracking, mage John Constantine in the upcoming TV series. What’s the good news? A.) At least he looks the part. B.) He’s Welsh, so he can at least fake the english accent. C.) He’s not Keanu Reeves. Nuff said. Like I’ve said before I am really looking forward to this show because I do have faith in what NBC can do with its supernatural properties. The show will be written by The Mentalist‘s Daniel Cerone and a man who needs no introduction, David S. Goyer. If Goyer can stick to his Blade and Dark City roots, and not his “let’s go off on a tangent” Dark Knight writing, we may have a success on out hands.
