Last week DC Comics released their newest event, Convergence. An event that is set to break down the walls of the DC Multiverse and, well, have them converge. This event will take place during a nine-part weekly series written by Jeff King and Dan Jurgens with Carlo Pagulayan, Stephen Segovia and Ethan Van Sciver on art duty. In addition to this nine-part series, we will get 40, yes 40, two-part mini-series to go along with this event. That’s a whopping 89 issues of massive scale event if I’m doing my math correctly.
This event has been being built up in the current ongoings, Earth 2: World’s End and The New 52: Future’s End. I can only imagine that Grant Morrison’s Multiversity has some play in this action as well. This along with the recent reveal that the Justice League 3000 series takes place in the pre-52 universe has the internet buzzing about the possible return of the pre-52 universe we all came to know and love. Needless to say, that is pretty exciting news if it holds any truth.
Add this event to your list of Multi-verse spanning events; Spider-Verse, The Secret Wars, Dynamite’s The Gold Key Universe, and of course the Valiant Sized Quantum and Woody multiverse parody. There is this theory about a collective conscious that comes to mind right about now. Either way, keep a look out for Convergence #0 out April 1st.
