You might not know this about me, but the original Fright Night is my favorite vampire film of all time. I’ve seen it countless times, know all the lines, and it’s always a staple around Halloween. I even am a fan of the sequel, and the remake. Now, we’re getting a Fright Night 2 which seems to be a sequel AND a remake.
It’s the exact same plot as the original. The exact same characters. And it’s as if the remake never existed, yet they call it Fright Night 2. The big catch is that instead of Jerry Dandridge, it’s ‘Gerri’ because it’s a female. Whatever, the preview actually looks cool and I’ll see it regardless of where it came from. Check out the trailer and synopsis below.
Here’s the plot below:
When high school student Charlie attends a study abroad program with his horror obsessed friend “Evil” Ed and ex-girlfriend Amy in Romania, he soon discovers their young attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a real life vampire. Too bad no one believes him. In fact, Evil Ed finds it amusing and it only feeds his vampire obsession. When Gerri turns Ed, Charlie seeks out Peter Vincent, the infamous vampire hunter (well, he plays one on TV) who is in Romania filming his show “Fright Night,” to teach him how to take down Gerri before she gets to Amy, who’s blood will cure Gerri of spending eternity as a vampire.
Fright Night 2 is directed by Eduardo Rodriguez. The film stars: Jamie Murray, Will Payne, Sean Power, Chris Waller, and Sacha Parkinson. The movie hits video on October 1st.
