It’s a double header for this season’s opener. Haven is sealed by a thick layer of fog that seems to prevent anybody from leaving. Duke has suddenly unleashed hundreds upon hundreds of new Troubles onto the people of Haven. On the bright side, Audrey is back….YEAH!!! It’s an all out Armageddon with a splash of chaos thrown into it for good measure. Nathan and Dwight are extremely concerned that with the fog trapping everybody in the town, emotions will run very high and will trigger the new troubles. Dwight believes that the people will not be able to handle their curse and seriously harm or kill each other. Theories start to bubble between Nathan, Dwight, and Duke on how to stop this. Nathan remembers a man, Joe Sena, whose Trouble causes his daughter to get trapped inside a boat. He thinks Joe is responsible who created the fog. They have to find and stop him. Dwight believes in total exposure of the truth about their secret to everybody in town and the police. He believes that by letting people know what is really happening, they can band together and help each other out. Duke on the other hand believes he is solely responsible for all of it; the new Troubles, the fog, everything. The only way for him to solve this is to leave Haven and never return. Incredibly enough he is able to leave Haven through the fog while everybody else is stuck inside.
Dave and Vince search for answers about their town’s history and its connection with Roanoke and CROATOA. They believe that something came out of the Thinny and killed everyone in Roanoke and it is doing it again. A couple more corpses are found around the town. Their cause of death is unknown, but they have the same markings and injuries similar to the Colorado Kid. Dave and Vincent conclude that the killer who killed the Colorado Kid is in Haven today.
Charlotte confesses to Audrey that she doesn’t have the answers to cure the Troubles and that the Barn is not something that can cure the Troubles, but it is actually a way to end the Troubles permanently, by killing them. Feeling betrayed, Audrey demands that she leaves Haven and never return. Charlotte goes to the hospital to say goodbye to Dwight. He responds to her with a cold goodbye.
Dwight decides to make a drastic decision about how to handle the situation. He makes an announcement through the town’s P.A. He declares that the Haven Police Department is no more. The Guard will now handle all police matters because they are better equipped to handle the Troubles better. Nathan asks Charlotte to stay and try to find a way to help find a cure for the Troubles. She tells him there might be a way to save the people, but it is a long shot. He’ll take it. The last scene of the episode, we see Dutch hitching a ride away from Haven. When Duke mentions the town of Haven, the driver looks puzzled and mentions that there is no town called Haven anywhere on the map.
Could this be how Roanoke disappeared from civilization long time ago? Can Audrey and Nathan find a way to save the town? Can Dwight and the Guard maintain order? Next episode will test Dwight’s control and Nathan must find a way to keep the power on in order to protect the people from a Trouble person who can kill in the dark.
