This week Nathan, Dwight, Charlotte, and Audrey are targeted by someone who can manipulate Tarot Card readings to manifest itself.  Vince and Dave try to uncover the mystery of people losing chunks of time and memory from recent attacks.  Duke is still in North Carolina trying to get more answers about an old legend of a couple that wreaked havoc long ago.

Dwight and Charlotte get more intimate.  Their relationship seems to be heading to a great start, so why am I feeling nervous about this?  In Haven, Nathan investigate two murders, a man being trampled by horses that seem to be invisible, and another that is struck by lightning.  Strangely both victims has roman numerals tattooed on their wrist.  Audrey and Charlotte head down to where William’s large Aether is stashed.  Charlotte wants to find a way to condense all this Aether into one big ball.  This way it will be easier to create a new Barn.  Charlotte mentions her husband who knew about the Aether and the Troubles.  He was a good scientist but his ambitions got the better of him and cost him his life when he fell into the Void.  Something happens to both of them.  Charlotte starts getting really tired like her energy is being drained, and Audrey’s sight is gone.  Nathan and Dwight are not unaffected by this either.  Nathan seems to be a magnet to unfortunate bad luck and Dwight is constantly getting injured.  In addition to their affliction, they have roman numerals tattooed on their wrists as well.  It is a race against time to try to stop the Trouble and stop them.  Someone is specifically targeting them to prevent them from stopping the Troubles.  Nathan figures out that it could possibly be someone in the occult because the second who got struck by lightning earlier was researching the occult.  Nathan and Dwight head to the local psychic, Lainey.  She tells them that she did do a read for two customers earlier that day.  She doesn’t believe that her reading can cause her customers to die.  She gave Nathan the Tarot Cards to show what she gave to her customers:  the Chariot and the Lightning.  Nathan knew that it is exactly how these two victims dies.  He now wants to know why she would draw cards on them, but she denies ever seeing them much less drawing Tarot Cards.  But Nathan saw four Tarot Cards already drawn out on the table.  The Blindness Card for Audrey, Weakness for Charlotte, Torture for Dwight and Bad Luck for Nathan.  Lainey swears she doesn’t remember drawing them.  Dwight and Nathan comes to the conclusion that the No Marks Killer used Lainey to inflict her Trouble on them.  She claims she never had the Troubles, but Nathan realizes that the No Marks killer must have triggered her Troubles when she became victim to his plan.

Nathan tells Audrey and Charlotte what he found at the Psychic’s place.  He told them about the Tarot Cards, Lainey’s lost time, and the No Marks Killer who triggered Lainey’s Trouble.  He also mention that Dave has been having visions of something coming out of the Void and a single word that is etched on stone “CROATOAN”.  Charlotte suddenly froze in fear.  She tells everybody that CROATOAN is not just a word, it is a name of a monster.  Croatoan is to the Void as Satan is to Hell.  Aether is part of the monster.  It might have killed Charlotte’s husband while in the Void.  Croatoan is the No Marks killer.  The monster is pulling the Aether out of the Troubles while the fog is keeping the Troubles inside.  The monster knows what Audrey and Charlotte are doing and trying to stop them.  If they build the new Barn, it can draw the monster inside the Barn along with Trouble curses and the Aether and get sucked inside the Void forever.

Dwight’s Tarot is slowly killing him, as well as Audrey and Charlotte.  Nathan decides to use Lainey to counteract the Tarot’s power by drawing more cards.  It works, but Charlotte gets a card that fears she might be in danger.  It says that someone is coming back into her life.  She figures out that it might be her husband from the Void.  Unfortunately, Audrey is still in danger.  Nathan tells Lainey to draw a new card for Audrey, she draws the Judgement Card.  Lainey warns him that this one can go either way.  She says as long as your cause is just, you can overcome any obstacle.  It works, Audrey is okay.  Dwight is okay to, but Charlotte gives him her ring and leaves.  Charlotte is seen at the hospital trying to pack up, but finds the No Marks killer there.  It wants the Aether, she tells it that Audrey has it.  It’s happy and wants to meet her.  It is confirmed that the No Marks Killer is really her husband.  She attacks him, but he mortally wounds her.  Audrey finds Charlotte lying on the floor dying.  She tells Audrey that the No Marks Killer, the Croatoan monster is her husband, your father and he is furious about what happened to Mara.  Charlotte dies in Audrey’s arm.

Duke is still in North Carolina with Seth making very little headway about the history of the Troubles.  His run in with the scam artist leads him to a gravestone with a Guard symbol etched on it.  He suddenly gets a visitor who knows a lot about him and is ready to tell him everything he knows.

This episode definitely answers a lot of questions: Croatoan, the Aether, and how to get control of the Aether.  But it raises more questions.  How did Charlotte’s husband become the Croatoan monster?  Where does Charlotte really come from?  Is she really dead?  Next week will hopefully give us the answers.
