Nathan is distraught to find Audrey in a comatose state. Henry, the Sandman, tells Nathan Audrey is gone forever and that she is his forever. In the dream world, Audrey is getting ready for her big day. She is getting married to Henry. The most wonderful, generous, nicest, man in the world. The only problem is Audrey doesn’t know Henry at all, and this is his dream, Audrey is a prisoner in it. If Audrey goes through the wedding and completes her vows, then Henry has complete control over her forever. Dwight interrogates him for answers as to why he would do this. Henry simply tells him that she was nice to him and didn’t want to use him for his Troubles. His childhood was a mess. Ever since his parents were killed in a car accident and he was put in an abusive home. He grew up living in his imaginative world. When he found out that he can bring other people into his world, he would trap them. Dwight tries to intimidate him by threatening him, but he retaliates by killing one of his comatose victims in his dream. This is like Nightmare on Elm Street, but in Haven.
Duke is rescued by Seth, co-founder of a paranormal group called ‘Dark Side Seekers’. But unfortunately has no knowledge of him nor Haven. It seems like everyone who is on the outside of the fog has amnesia about Haven. When Duke tries to jog Seth’s memories about his visit to Haven, he slowly remembers. Seth wants to go back to Haven to figure out why his memory was wiped out about the town, but Duke refuses to go back, bad memories. Seth doesn’t believe him though.
Charlotte offers to go into Henry’s dream and bring Audrey out. Dwight thinks it is extremely dangerous and that she can get killed if Henry discovers what you are doing. But he reluctantly agrees. When she enters Henry’s dream, for a split second she keeps herself intact but the dream world sucks her in and she is now the maid of honor. Little things start to unravel in Henry’s dream because the amount of control he needs to hold onto his victims are starting to get to him. Grayson, who is Henry’s best man in his dream, is able to speak, but in real life he’s deaf. He begins questioning Henry’s actions. He doesn’t remember getting an invitation, how they met, how did he suddenly become his best man. Henry gets nervous and kills him. Audrey and Charlotte overhears their conversation and Charlotte suddenly remembers who she is and why she is there. She tries to tell Audrey about Henry, and what his true intentions are. Audrey suddenly remembers everything: Nathan, Haven, and the Troubles.
Duke tells Seth that he remembers a story about a man in North Carolina that can remove the black tar of evil out of its victims. Duke wants to start there. Seth suddenly gets amnesia again when he walks away from him. So Duke thinks that Seth should stick very close to him from now on. They reach North Carolina and Seth’s memories start to come back. Their mission is close to a dead end until they get a note from a mechanic saying he is the one they’re looking for. Duke tests the mechanics ability but it falls flat when Duke realizes that the mechanic is pulling scam to scam people out of their money. Duke strong arms him to tell him where he got the idea. The mechanic explains of an old story about 500 years ago about a demon couple that came through and created a lot of chaos.
Thinking he has won, Henry finds Audrey telling her it is time for the wedding. Audrey reveals to him that she knows about his Troubles, and why he did what he did. Henry tries to convince her that she can’t leave and that she is his. Knowing that his control over this dream world is crumbling, she pleads to him that he doesn’t have to do this and she can try to help him. But his rage and obsession with her betrays him and Audrey is able to break free as well as all the others including Charlotte. This leaves Henry all alone in his own imaginative world.
Audrey thanks Charlotte for coming in after her and that from now on she’ll help her with whatever plan she has to save the town.
Dreams can be a powerful thing when creating your own perfect utopia, or it can trap you in a nightmare. Audrey experience that first hand from the hands of Henry. But with the help of her friends and family she is saved, but Henry is stuck forever in his imagination. Duke is beginning to understand the magic and how powerful the Troubles are. He is paddling up a creek without a paddle. Eventually he will have to return to Haven to confront his demons, sooner than he thinks.
