This week is the season finale and everything gets wrapped up on St. Germaine Island. Kyle, Sara, and Soren are still trying to find a way off the island. Julia is looking to find a way to keep Alan from completing his mission before he destroys any hope of saving the human race from genocide from Ilaria, and Amy has returned filled with vengeance.
The Good
- Amy is back and seriously disfigured by the organic pesticide and Landry’s attempt to inject his spinal fluid into her.
- Soren stabs Eli for killing his mother, Olivia.
- 30 yrs later; Julia is tended by Caleb. It is revealed that Caleb has been on the island for thirty years.
- Julia finds out from Caleb that Alan and Hataki created the virus TXM-7 in order to eliminate the immortals.
- Sara gets surrounded by the unwilling victims of Michael’s birthing chamber. She convinces them that Amy is the person they want.
- Amy believes that with her disfigurement she is free to do whatever she wants, and she wants Sara and Julia to pay.
- Eli(formerly Peter) and Ann take the Mother Root and the fungus from Julia and wants to negotiate with Ilaria for money and power.
- Amy and Ann have a mother and daughter talk, but it ends up Amy taking Ann’s baby.
- To get rescued, Sara tells Julia that she wants to join Ilaria, but they and the rest of the CDC need to leave the island.
- Eli finds Alan pouring gasoline on the Mother Tree. He knocks Alan down and sets a fire that surrounds Alan.
- Soren names the cure to the mycotoxin “Olivia”, after his mother.
- 30 yr later: Caleb reveals himself that he is Soren. Alan put him on the island to keep him safe from the virus.
- Amy gets attacked by the unwilling mothers. Landry takes the baby from her and hands it to Ann.
- Back on the mainland, Julia discovers that Madam Wallenberg was using Julia to get to the Mother Root and the fungus. She made a deal with Eli and Ann who are at the hospital with Alan, Sara, Kyle, and Soren.
The Bad
- Sara’s baby didn’t make it. Alan is immortal now and Sara is working for Ilaria!
This is the end of the second season. Everything about this season is ridiculously crazy and full of wildly scientific and religious themes. The theme to this season is great and I love the complexity of the characters. The way that this season ended leaves the story of the CDC doctors open for more opportunities to entertain us in the future. The very last scene gives us glimpse into the near future whether Dr. Sara Jordan is working for Ilaria at the pregnancy clinic and makes me wonder if Ilaria has won. The story of St. Germain Island and the Abbey is done, but the battle between Ilaria and the CDC doctors are far from over. I can’t wait until next season!
