Jamie Foxx HAS been confirmed to play Electro in the movie. So, read what you want below, but this IS happening as of Today.
This is a little weird, but I guess Jamie Foxx is in talks to be Electro in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man sequel, directed by Marc Webb. Why is it weird? I like Jamie Foxx and all, I really think he’s come a long ways away from his In Living Color Days; but that doesn’t mean I think he’d make a good super villain Think of some of the best villains and you have ACCOMPLISHED actors. Dafoe, Hiddleston, McKellan; these guys all have the chops to pull of pure evil, even if they believe they are doing the right thing. Foxx’s work just doesn’t garner the consideration in my opinion.
Electro has the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightening. Most people being struck by lightning start a sweet band, but oh well. Check out the link below for more on that; and keep check back here for Amazing Spider-Man 2 news as it comes in.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 is expected for a May 2nd, 2014 release date. The movie is confirmed to have Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone coming back as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey!
