Dutch, Johnny, D’Avin go on a Claim and Clear Warrant on a cargo ship located in an asteroid belt. Things get very complicated and dangerous as they search the ship. D’Avin’s mysterious secret is revealed in a very troublesome way.
This episode is a reflection of the film, Event Horizon, with a touch of Pandorum to spice up the story.
- Dutch and her crew follow a beacon that leads them to a ship stranded in the middle of space. By RAC policy, that any RAC agent finds a derelict ship with no markings to identify, then the ship is open market for salvaging.
- When Dutch boards the Aegir, the stranded ship, she finds nobody, and no cargo on the ship.
- Things start to go wrong when Lucy, Dutch’s ship, trigger an alarm and distances itself from the Aegir, declaring it to be carrying a possible contamination on the Aegir.
- Dutch and her crew discover survivors, but one of them jettisons himself out of the airlock after writing the number 17 on the window in his blood.
- They find another survivor, Hogan injured. He says he was part of a ship salvaging team a couple years back and has been trapped on the ship ever since.
- Dutch goes searching for anything that give her answers as to what happened. She finds the rest of the crew together, dead with massive head traumas to their heads.
- D’Avin takes Hogan on their way to the infirmary, but Hogan ambushes him and knocks him out. D’Avin ends up in a glass cell with Hogan outside looking in on him.
- D’Avin finally realizes what the ship is. This Aegir is actually a Rendition ship for black ops for interrogating and torturing prisoners. D’Avin experiences the ships persuasion technique when he becomes its current prisoner. By ingesting nanites into his system, the interrogation program has full control of D’Avin’s organs. D’Avin is forced to confess his secret about his dark past.
- D’Avin blames himself for getting his military squad killed, but he can’t remember how he did it. Hogan tells D’Avin that because they both served in the military and done some horrible things, they are much alike.
- Johnny and Dutch overheard what D’Avin confessed over the security cameras. Now Johnny understands what his brother is going through.
- Dutch finds D’Avin and fights her way to save him from Hogan.
- Dutch, Johnny and D’Avin are able to escape the ship and fly away before the Aegir blows up from the mines Johnny placed on it.
- Dutch gets a visit from Khlyen. He demands that she come with him.
In this episode we get to see what D’Avin is hiding from his fellow Killjoys. This episode focuses more on D’Avin’s inner demons and less about uncovering the mysterious deaths onboard a military torture ship.
