You may know Ed Brubaker as the comic writer who has worked on: Criminal, Uncanny X-Men, and best-known for his work on Captain America. Now, he’ll be journeying into the realm of horror/slasher, as he’ll be taking on a reboot of the 80s film, Maniac Cop.
The original film starred Bruce Campbell, Tom Atkins Robert Z’Dar and Richard Roundtree. A killer was on the loose dressed in a police uniform and stalking after pepople. No news on who the director will be, but we’re supposed to be getting an announcement of that at Cannes. The movie already has a distributor from Wild Bunch and is being produced by Nicholas Refn (Drive.)
Maniac Cop will most likely be released next year, my only hope is that Bruce Campbell can make a cameo.
