If you’re a Nintendo fan, then most likely you know how awesome Mario Kart is.  And the latest installment, Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, is one of the best ones yet.  And for those of you who don’t know about Mario Kart, then know that not only is it awesome, but it is one of the most completive games ever.  So when Nintendo announced DLC’s to come for it, I have to admit, I was super excited.

I was also super surprised… your main Nintendo game, such as Metroid, Zelda and Mario, doesn’t usually have DLC’s ever come up.  So it was kind of a surprise to hear Nintendo release news like this.  But the best part about this is that, these DLC’s are pretty big.  There will be two DLC’s, one releasing this November, and one next year (2015) in May each for $7.99 (or $11.99 for both).

Mario Kart DLC - Link

The first includes Cat custom Peach, Tanooki Costume Mario and (drumroll please)… Link!  Awesome, right?  On top of that, we get 4 new vehicles, and a whole new 8 tracks.  Side note, the tracks on Mario Kart 8 are amazing – super colorful, exciting and fun.  So a whole new 8 tracks is actually great!  The second includes Villager (from Animal Crossing), Isabelle and Dry Bowser.  Also included are another 4 vehicles and 8 more tracks!

Wait, there is more… if you get both DLC’s, you also receive 8 new colors for Yoshi (I’m sticking with green, who’s my signature character), and Shy Guy.

Mario Kart DLC

I have to admit, even though Nintendo and the Wii U is not doing all that perfect, this announcement is pretty great, and a very good move on behalf of them.  Count me in!
