I have been working very diligently to remain caught up with all the different Star Wars canon titles. From the comics to the books, I feel that it has been handled well and is pretty solid. Well, at NYCC this weekend several new titles were announced to be on the way from Del Rey. Many have been asking, including myself, when the sequels to Chuck Windig’s Aftermath would be announced. Well now we know the titles for the two books but unfortunately they did not announce release dates. Look for Aftermath: Life Debt and Aftermath: Empire’s End coming soon I would think!
Another new canon book I picked up, yet haven’t had the chance to read, is Lost Stars. Author Claudia Gray will be tackling another novel called Star Wars: New Republic: Bloodline. It will take place 6 years before The Force Awakens and I am pretty confident that it will explain which direction the Skywalker lineage went in. Maybe giving us some major insight into some of the characters that will be featured in the new film. I for one can’t wait for this book. This book is NOT part of the “Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens” series due to its release date in the spring of 2016.
An interesting new anthology novel was also announced. Star Wars: Stories From a Galaxy Far, Far Away – Aliens will tell several stories based on the aliens from the universe of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This reminds me of old books like Tales from Jabba’s Palace and the Mos Eisley one and that makes me happy. Here are the titles:
- High Noon on Jakku
- All Creatures Great and Small
- The Face of Evil
- The Crimson Corsair and the lost treasure of Count Dooku
Well there you have it. Updates when they happen. May the Force be with you!
