The closer we get to July 7th, the more excited I get in anticipation of Guillermo Del Toro‘s, Pacific Rim. The movie features giant robots battling giant monsters. There’s little else in the world cooler than that. Below we have some character posters, a sneak preview at the upcoming comic, a link to the Design Your Own Jaeger website and a reveal of the new 18″ figure from NECA. Just, wow! Check out the goodies below!
And here’s some of the panels from the comic presented by Del Toro and Pacific Rim screenwriter, Travis Beacham. Pacific Rim: Tales From Year Zero will be out to June 5th.
Also, here’s the synopsis for Pacific Rim: Tales from Year Zero:
Hitting stores June 5, PACIFIC RIM: TALES FROM YEAR ZERO serves as a prequel to the highly-anticipated motion picture — Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures Pacific Rim. Chronicling the very first time Earth is menaced by incredible monsters known as Kaiju, these inhuman beasts rise from the ocean depths and threaten to extinguish all mankind! Witness the race to develop massive robot fighting machines called Jaegers, each one controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. This action-packed book features many of the key characters from the film as we follow them in their early careers. Written by Pacific Rim screenwriter himself, Travis Beacham, and with del Toro’s hands-on supervision, this volume is beautifully penciled by Sean Chen, Yvel Guichet, Pericles Junior, Chris Batista and Geoff Shaw; inks by Steve Bird, Mark McKenna, Pericles Junior and Matt Banning.
Legendary and Warner Bros. also have a website where you can Design Your Own Jaegar. You can get there by clicking HERE. Pretty great stuff. You can share your designs on Facebook and Twitter.
Finally, NECA reveals it’s first look at it’s 18″ figure of Jaegar, Gipsy Danger. The figure will have lights, sounds, and is very articulated. Can’t wait to see a full paint job on it, and you know we’ll have a review on it later here at DFAT!
