Elba. Idris Elba.
The name has been going around since the end of Skyfall when Daniel Craig said that he was done playing 007. Then he came back for Spectre and “retired” again. Now we have the next Bond film coming out, directed by Danny Boyle, and the rumor mill is flying around saying that Elba is being considered for the role once again.
I’m not really sure how to take all this since we know that Boyle and Craig are doing the next film. Is this for the next next one? Why didn’t they figure this all out when Spectre ended? For now I’ll be taking this as what it is, a rumor until proven otherwise. That all being said, if Elba does in fact get the role, I’ll be ecstatic. While I like the idea of a younger person stepping into the shoes of the 00, I also think Elba is one of those great actors that does good in any character he plays.
