There’s little surprise that one of the series writers, Roberto Orci, has been announced to be directing the third film. Orci has been campaiging for the role ever since J. J. Abrams took over as director of Star Wars: Episode VII, and it looks like Skydance has announced his pleas.
Star Trek 3 is being written by Orci, along with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The film will be produced by Abrams as well as his producing partner Bryan Burke and Skydance’s David Ellison
No news on the plot of the third film, but it’s expected that most of the cast will make it’s return including Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock. As more Star Trek news comes to DFAT, we’ll be sure to keep you posted!
