While we know that Star Wars: Episode VII is shooting currently, we know nothing about the plot. It was such huge news that we even found out the cast, so now the rumors are flying as to what to expect from the film. Many of us think that the story will be involving Luke Skywalker training his neice and nephews the ways of The Force when a new threat comes to strike down the Jedi’s forever. A recent tidbit from MakingStarWars.net may give a little validity to that plot rumor.
The bad guys in Star Wars: Episode VII are being called “Jedi Hunters” by people working on and around the film. These are scary individuals, dressed in black, some helmeted, that hunt Jedi for the Empire.
These Jedi Hunters wouldn’t be Sith themselves, but would be powerful enough to go up against Luke. They would have been working under The Emperor, but hiding in the background as Darth Vader didn’t allow them to take on his son. Now that the Empire is over, but there isn’t a ‘New Republic’ these Hunters could be going after any remnants of Jedi that may exist.
One character coming up in Star Wars Rebels is, The Inquisitor. He is tasked to take out the remaining Jedi and it would be pretty cool if the character showed up as sending out these Hunters in Episode VII and bridging the cartoon with the live-action film. Only time will tell!
Star Wars Episode VII is written by Lawrence Kasdan and is directed by J. J. Abrams. The film is due out December 18th, 2015 and will star: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Gweondoline Christie, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
