We’ve known that Will Fichtner would be playing Shredder in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, but he hasn’t said much about the character. Today, we have him talking a bit more about the character of “Eric Sach’s” Which is not the Oroku Saki we’ve come to know and love.
[box_light]“What I read about Eric Sachs in the script was great, and then how the character has been molded and changed when we started filming has become something really quite remarkable in terms of what we’ve seen before of the character.” Fichtner also comments on the Turtles themselves, saying that they’re “some messed up mutant turtles!”[/box_light]
I like Michael Bay, so I’m not as publicly outraged as most fans are about the film. That being said, I’m not sure why they had to change the character to become an American. I also don’t know why we havne’t seen what the Turtles look like. Let’s hope that we get a glimpse before the film comes out. I’m leaving my full judgements at the door until I see some footage. Then we’ll see!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is due out June 6th, 2014. The movie is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and will also star: Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, Jeremy Howard, Megan Fox, Noel Fisher, and Will Arnett.
