First of all, I’m generally creeped out by Lily Taylor (The Haunting). I think she’s a great actress, but something about her always sets me on edge and a little spooked out. Secondly, I believe in ghosts and I try to avoid basements at all costs; and the sounds of laughing children are all very scary things to me. All these things combined, make the trailer for James Wan‘s (Insidious, Saw) newest film, The Conjuring; one of the spookiest trailers I’ve seen in a long time.
I had a geniune feeling of unease as I watched this trailer, and I really want to see how this film plays out as a whole. In edition to Taylor, we also get the lovely Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), as well as returning Wan alum, Patrick Wilson (Insidious, Watchmen). Check out the trailer below and don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Conjuring:

Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
The Conjuring is due out July 9th, 2013 and also stars: Ron Livingston, Joey King, Mackenzie Foy, and Shanley Caswell.
