Robert Kirkman is on a role right now. He’s created the most popular show on television with, The Walking Dead. He’s working on a spinoff from of the show to capitalize on more money from that. He’s also just brokered a deal with Cinemax to bring his Image/Skybound Comic, Outcast, to Cinemax.
Outcast centers around a man who has been possessed since he was a child. “Now as an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers, but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.” Kirkman is writing the pilot script, with David Alpert serving as producer.
Kirkman says that Outcast is “a very real-world dramatic take on a horror concept,” something that he hasn’t done since his Walking Dead comic. There’s no word as to if this film will make it past the scripting stage, but given Kirkman’s clout, there’s a good possibility that we’ll be seeing this adaptation come to fruition.
