Hey Towelites! A lot of cool figures were annouced this week and some great throwbacks went up for preorder. Let’s run through highlights of this week’s toy and collectibles news!
Bandai announced two figures that are on everyone’s wishlists but when you see the final product you wonder what direction that Bandai is taking their Figuarts line. I’ll let you decide, and please comment, but dion’t both figures look a little stylized. Check them out:
Super 7 is at it again with their rescue of the MOTU line and now we are getting some great throwback figures along with Stridor. As of yesterday the presale for the vintage two-packs of He-Man and Skeletor & She-Ra and Hordak are sold out. I am a little sad because I was about to order one earlier and forgot. This is amazing news and congrats to Super 7 for a super successful preorder. Here is the link to Stridor if you want to get in on that horse action.
If you want a fair chance at getting some really amazing MOTU style figures then look no further that Four Horsemen‘s latest line-up in their Mythic Legions series. Two new figures will HOPEFULLY be ready for Power-Con this year and like last year’s figures have a small amount available at the show BUT you can defiantly get in on a preorder when they go live on Store Horsemen. Check out the Battle Cat inspired Cowarros and Evil-Lyn lookalike Malynna the Malevolent.
ThreeZero is a pretty good company with some great figures in the 1/6th scale race. Joining her previously announced partner Moulder, Dana Scully is getting the plastic treatment. Even if the show sucked in the end you can have your favorite agents forever frozen in plastic form! Take a look at both figures below and check out more from ThreeZero at their official site!
I have to wait until Sunday to see Avengers: Infinity War. It’s my own fault. I also have to avoid spoilers like the plague and run a geek news website. Well here’s something we can all enjoy, straight out of the Civil War comic series and beyond comes Iron Spider Hot Toys 1/6 scale figure. This will be Peter Parker’s battle suit for the new film and I am sure it is going to be amazing. Check it out below and preorder it here.
Last BUT not least because I saved the best for last. Mezco FINALLY put their Darkseid One:12 Collective figure up for presale and it is damn amazing! Expensive, AND damn amazing. Here’s the rundown because I still can;t fathom this figure. It will be the ultimate version of this character in plastic form. Well at least in the 1/12 scale. Preorder him on Mezco, Big Bad Toy Store or Entertainment Earth!
The One:12 Collective Darkseid figure is the first ever fully articulated Poly-Stone figure featuring a newly created One:12 Collective body that encompasses his immense stone physique. Incorporating magnetically interchangeable faceplates and light-up Omega Beam eyes, Darkseid is primarily made of Poly-Stone with casted metal accents to achieve a level of authenticity never achieved with the character. The tyrannical New God is clothed in his signature royal tunic with a real metal helmet, chest plate, waist belt, and includes an Apokoliptian ceremonial cloak with an armored harness. His sentient Mother Box super-computer is also made from metal and magnetically stores on the back of his belt.
Finally today Towelites, the second season of The Toys That Made Us has been greenlit at Netflix. We all can’t wait for part 2 of season one to hit because this show is all about what we are at heart. Congrats to everyone who makes that show possible and keep up the great work!!
