This is it, the episode where the Turtles face a double whammy from the Triceratons and the Kraang.  They must gather all their strength and resources to battle against incredible odds to save the planet.  It is a two part one hour episode that will leave you out of breath at the end of the hour.

After the Turtles discover that a new threat is arriving to eliminate the Kraang, they must first destroy the Techno Drome before it goes operational.  But they run into an unexpected ally, a former Kraang operative name Bishop who is part of a small group of Kraang defectors known as the Utrom Tribe.  He claims that he is the original body form  that the Kraang uses to replicate.  Normally the Utrom Tribe doesn’t interfere with Earth matters, but he fears that a great threat is coming and they must break their silence and intervene.  Bishop gives the Turtles a brief history of the war between the Kraang and the Triceratons.  For centuries they have been fighting over Dimension X.  With their superior intellect, the Kraang used a weapon called The Black Hole Generator to destroy the Triceratons home world leaving a single fleet left alive.  Since then they vow revenge on the Kraang.

Back at the lair, the Mutanimals are healing while the Turtles, Bishop, Casey and April start planning their offensive against the Techno Drome.  The Turtles use both the Turtle Sub, and the Turtle Blimp to prevent the Techno Drome from rising into the atmosphere.  Unfortunately, they fail on both fronts.  To make matters worse, the Triceratons have arrived.  Captain Mozar, the Triceraton military leader delivers a message to the people of Earth.  He announces that they are here to eliminate the Kraang threat from the planet, but by doing so the planet will be destroyed in the process.  “Have a nice day,” he added to the end.

The Turtles take the fight in the air using Kraang fighter drones to battle the Triceratons, both in space and around the Statue of Liberty.  The Triceratons return fire with their own fighters.  It is one hell of a dog fight.  While the Turtles are battling the Triceratons in the air, Splinter is forced to ally himself with Shredder and his mutant gang to stop the Triceratons from deploying the Heart of Darkness.  This weapon is similar to the Kraang’s Black Hole Generator.  After the Triceraton’s mother ships destroys the Techno Drome, the Turtles rush to meet up with Splinter, the Mutanimals, Mondo Gecko, and Mutagen Man at Washington Square where the Triceratons plan to setup there doomsday weapon.  Leo is surprised that Shredder and his group are there to stop the alien threat as well.  But it is a fight that requires every single mutant and human that has the guts and courage to go up against alien dinosaurs with weapons.  I guess the motto “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” rings loud in this battle.  As the mutants and the humans fight for the planet, the Triceratons weapon is almost ready.  Splinter notices that and calls for Shredder to help him stop the weapon, but Shredder betrays him and kills Splinter.  The betrayal of Shredder at this crucial moment shocks everybody.  The rivalry and feud between them is well known, but what Shredder does is beyond understanding.  The Heart of Darkness is triggered and a huge black hole appears in the sky.  Everyone and everything is sucked into the void, but a mysterious space ship appears out of nowhere and rescues the Turtles, Casey and April before the Earth is destroyed.  The Triceratons escape, Shredder is dead and the Earth is gone.  As the Turtles watch their home get obliterated, their robotic rescuer introduces himself as Professor Zayton Honeycutt.  Trying to lift up their spirits, the Professor promises them an adventure of a lifetime.

This is a great way to end the season.  The Turtles and their friends fight for their lives.  Even though the end result is tragic, a little sliver of hope is presented to them.  I can’t wait until next season.
