As the Turtles grieve for the loss of their master and Earth, Professor Honeycutt takes his ship into a temporal tunnel and goes back six months before the Earth is destroyed. He tells them they have a chance to save their planet before the Triceratons arrive. The Black Hole Weapon needs to be assembled and the Triceratons must find the pieces of the weapon that are scattered throughout the universe. The Turtles discover that Honeycutt is a fugitiod and ally to the Utrom, more specifically, Bishop. It was the Utrom who scattered the Black Hole Weapon in the first place. There is only one snag, Professor Honeycutt tells them this is one time deal, he can’t go back in time again.
Unfortunately, their ship flies into an asteroid belt and the ship gets damaged. To make repairs, the Turtles take a stroll in space. They use this time to take advantage of this once in a lifetime experience, Turtles in space!! It is kind of awkward watching these heroes enjoy a moment when they know that there world is going to be destroyed in six months. But this is probably something they will never experience again. Professor Honeycutt told them that they need to refuel so he finds a space port that resembles Star Wars Mos Eisley. While the ship gets repaired and refueled the Turtles, Casey and April go window shopping within the alien market. Each one of them find places that match their personalities. Mikey always lets his stomach lead and finds an eatery, more importantly he finds his love….pizza. But this is outer space, so what looks like pizza is actually an alien that just ran away from him.. The food owner is mad that Mikey just lost his most precious item and wants Mikey to compensate him monetarily. Leo is not having much luck either. Trying to feel like he has the Casanova vibe, he hits on an alien at a bar. Unfortunately, this female alien is not alone. Her behemoth of a boyfriend arrives and chases Leo down the street. Donnie and April visit a souvenir shop and is enjoying themselves until April accidentally drops and breaks a very expensive item. The owner is fine about it just as long as April pays for it, but when she informs the owner she can’t pay, the owner changes her attitude. The owner chases them down the road. Raph and Casey find a weapons store and start touching and playing with the alien firearms despite the owner warns them about the no touching policy. They ignore the owners and have their fun. But they trigger a security drone and it fires upon them. Now all the Turtles, Casey and April are running for their lives from various angry shop owners and boyfriends. To make matters worse, they crash into an insectoid like alien. The angry owners and boyfriend stop in their tracks and backs away. The insectoid identifies himself as Lord Dreg and is insulted that lower life forms have the nerve to touch him. The Turtles are not impressed and actually try to pick a fight. Lord Dreg and his subjects fight them until the Turtles are able to defeat them. They run towards the ship and fly away, but Lord Dreg is in chase. Honeycutt uses all is flying skills to evade Lord Dreg, he succeeds. But their ship flies into a fleet of Triceratons. “Aww Space Apples,” Mikey said to describe their situation.
This is a pretty good season opener. The Turtles hope to save their world is rekindled with the help of Professor Honeycutt time traveling ship. It looks like it is going to be one wild space ride for the Turtles. It is a race against time for the Turtles to prevent the Triceratons to assemble the Black Hole Weapon.
