TooManyGames 2014
10th Anniversary of Pennsylvania’s Primary Gaming Event
OAKS, June 24, 2014: For over 10 years TooManyGames has been the primary convention destination for gamers throughout the eastern United States. Thousands of gamers of all types congregate in Oaks, Pennsylvania for the annual gaming extravaganza, and this year’s event will be the biggest yet.
TooManyGames was originally founded as an annual marketplace where game collectors could come and add new games and collectibles to their collections, so it’s no surprise that the marketplace is still the most popular aspect of the event. Dozens of vendors will be available selling games, collectibles, artwork, crafts, music, and so much more.
Of course there’s much more being presented than just the marketplace now. TooManyGames began their Indie Game Showcase initiative in 2011 which offers free and low-cost exhibition space to small independent game developers. These indie developers don’t get the same level of exposure the huge publishers do, but TooManyGames wants to make sure that all gamers get a chance to play the games these small studios produce. Many of these games will be getting their first public showing at TooManyGames, which will allow the developers to get fresh insight from the many gamers who get to try their hands at these new creations.
There’s so much happening at TooManyGames that it’s hard to focus on just a few things. Concerts will be going on throughout Saturday and Sunday; presentations and discussions panels Friday through Sunday; all varieties of tournaments (video game, board game, and card game); our huge open play areas for all ages and genres of video, board, and card games; and there’s so much more!
New this year is TooManyGames’ partnership with multiple shelters in the Delaware Valley and with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Our TooManyNeedy campaign aims to help provide various homeless and protection shelters with needed clothing, food, and hygiene products, as well as funds to help keep these organizations going. Our Pixels for Kids program will offer attendees the chance to donate $1 to sign a colored block which, when enough donations are reached, will complete a picture of a well-known video game hero. 100% of all charitable donations made during the convention will be donated to our charity partners.
TooManyGames is an exciting event for gamers of all ages and offers different pricing structures to make it affordable for anyone to attend! Children 3 and under get in free, 4-12 are only $10 with a paid adult admission. Family Four Packs of tickets are available for the Sunday of the event for only $50!
TooManyGames is taking place June 27th – 29th, 2014 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. Tickets are available online and at the door. More information about TooManyGames is available online at www.toomanygames.com.[/box_light]
