Mezco Toyz has revolutionized the action figure market with their One:12 Collective series. It all began with the amazing Dark Knight Returns Batman figures and has now expanded to include Universal Monsters, Marvel Comics, classic cartoon characters, horror icons and more. As usual being human we just aren’t satisfied with what is in front of us. We think to ourselves what else could Mezco snag a license to in order to make some more amazing action figures. Look forward to our next Pursuit of Plastic podcast as we discuss Mezco as a whole and the One:12 line in detail.

Below is the list of my top 5 most wanted franchised figures to get the One: 12 Collective treatment from Mezco!

5.) Watchmen – There have been some decent attempts at making the team, from Mattel’s take on the classic comic look to DC Direct’s movie versions.  The issue is we also need more than just the core team and with the amount of attention that the Watchmen are about to get in the current DC Comics Rebirth universe, now would be a great time to get some awesome clothed figures. Not to mention that there’s a HBO series incoming, just saying.

4.) Lord of the Rings – Nothing says potential than a Lord of the Rings series from Mezco! Could you imagine the combination of armor and cloth that could go into each character from Middle Earth? We need some adult collectibles based on this classic series!!

3.) MillarWorld – This is the first indie comic world in my list and it’s a doozy. Recently the rights to Mark Millar’s colorful comic world was acquired by Netflix and it’s only a matter of time before our minds and eyeholes will be blown away. So why not have some cool figures based on fan-favorites such as Kickass, Nemesis, Wanted, you’re getting the idea and you’re also salivating, go get a tissue.

2.) Star Wars – Please Disney let someone else other than Hasblo have the rights to make Star Wars action figures! It’s very easy to see the potential of real clothed figures when it comes to making Star Wars action figures, Hasbro has been making “strides” in the area for both their 6″ and 3.75″ lines. Now I don’t want to take any business away from Bandai and their solid Figuarts but it is a little expense to keep importing these figures, again a big thank you to Disney.

1.) Valiant Comics – What can I say? If you haven’t noticed we are huge Valiant fans here at DFAT. This is one franchise that has only dibbled and dabbled when it has come to action figures and I think that Mezco One:12 is the perfect home for their classic characters such as Ninjak, Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot, the list could go on. With the rise of Valiant this year and the debut of their first live-action series just around the corner, NOT forgetting to mention that their characters are headed to the big screen soon, now would be the perfect time for Mezco to swoop in and get the rights to make my most requested line-up of figures period.
