The brook ran calmly through a fading forest. The mist set low in the trees and almost blotted out the sun. It collected in small rivulets on the browned leaves, rolling off and creating a tame rain in the quiet place. Revenge stories are like apple pie. They go really good with ice cream and the smell of a shady diner. Don’t look into that sentence, it means nothing. Anyway, this is a nice ole’ revenge story with robots and lotsa sand and funny words and pretty pictures.

I think they’re really getting to the meat of this character. The idea of him teleporting everywhere is fun and all, but him being an interdimensional hoppy-boy makes this book a lot more interesting. This is probably my favorite series out of all of the New Age of Hero series.

This is the kind of book that makes me question why I ever thought I could be a writer. Just stop having dreams. Lemire did it better.
Tormond didn’t know how he got to the forest. He only knew that he was deep in the woods by his home. The only reason he had even that small piece of knowledge was a not that had been pinned to his jacket. When Tormond was a child, he had a teacher that would pin notes to his jacket in much the same way, so he could take them home to his parent. Feverishly, he stumbled through the leaves that littered the ground, kicking them up in a confetti, wishing he was heading home to his parents.
