He stepped out of the shower, a cool breeze from his cracked window sending a shiver across his whole body. Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 (Marvel)

Man. I have loved everything Ahmed has been working on recently. His Black Bolt series was fucking incredible and I’m really enjoying Exiles. Miles has been a character I’ve been interested in for a long time, but have never really picked up. This is a good time for anyone in that boat.
Doctor Strange: The Best Defense #1 (Marvel)

So far this little mini event thing has been really fucking good. I mean seriously. With the talent on board,I was pumped already, but the Hulk and Namor issues were absolutely masterful. Pick these up if you have the chance. I am a massive fan of Smallwood’s art, so him on Doctor Strange, if even for only one issue, is a massive bonus.
Silver Surfer: The Best Defense #1 (Marvel)

My boy is doing all the interior art and words for the best shiny boy that Marvel has in their roster. I am massively pumped for this issue, see above. I have seen some art from this issue and let me tell you. Boy, Latour was the man for the fucking job. Check this out.

The next arc starts and I pray to the comic Gods that it is anywhere near as enthralling as the first arc.Seriously, this book is fucking incredible and if you somehow managed to miss it the first go around, pick this issue up and the first trade. Then and only then can we be friends.
Batman Annual #3 (DC)
Tom Taylor (W) Otto Schmidt (A)
I love the fact that this team is on this annual. Tom Taylor is working on Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man early next year, and Otto Schmidt was one of my favorite parts of the Green Lantern series with Percy. This team tackling the Dark Knight is going to be a trip for sure. Also, it’s all about the best fucking butler around. Alfred Pennyworth deserves everything.

I’ve read a decent amount of Kindlon’s stuff at this point and I can tell you that this book is a wild departure from his typical fare. It’s snarky, fun, and just a bit ridiculous. If you like armies of robots and just a little revenge,this book is going to be for you.
The Lone Ranger #3 (Dynamite)

This book is surprising. It surprised me, which is why I call it surprising. In all seriousness though, I was super excited for this book and it has yet to disappoint. I may not be the most familiar with Lone Ranger lore, but dammit if I don’t love this book.

The rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper in this book. I really love how fast paced this series is. Kirkman is know for slow burning books but I think recently he’s been doing a fantastic job of getting right to the meat of his books.

You may have heard of this book. You probably heard about the Bat-a-wang from issue one that all but sunk all hopes of the Black Label imprint at DC. I don’t know why they’re instinct to the press for their adult run of books was to shutter the idea, but this book is responsible….It’s a great book, penis or no,you should check it out.

This book was a little bit of a sneak hit for me. I picked up the first issue of Millar’s newest book Prodigy on a whim, let’s just say, it will not be making the top of the stack. I feel like Millar is a bit of a crap-shoot at times. I love a lot of his ideas but some just fall flat for me. This is not one of those books and I can tell you it’s 90% because OLIVIER COIPEL IS AN ART GOD.

This newest arc feels vastly different from the last one. Don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere is as strong as the last one, and obviously the talent overfloweth, but there is something different and fresh about this arc. Chalk this one up to a book that continues to surprise.
