Have you ever heard a voice briefly? Just an echo of a word or maybe only a syllable. This is a breach in the space-time continuum. The noises you are hearing are the final cries for help from a dying universe, our own universe. They are the last moments of life in all existence. So, stop being so scared. Damn. Top of the Stack.
The Astonishing Ant-Man #4 (Marvel)
Nick Spencer (W) Ramon Rosanas (A)
I really hope this series picks up, because right now I am not digging it as much as I did before Secret Wars. I am looking for new candidates for the cutting block. Don’t do this to me Ant-Man.
Batman and Robin Eternal #16 (DC)
Collin Kelly/Jackson Lanzing (W) Andrea Mutti (A)
This series is just getting cooler and cooler. I have one question though. Seriously? Where the fuck is Damian throughout all of this? I mean is he going to end up being a huge piece of the puzzle? Because it seems even more suspicious that he hasn’t appeared yet. I mean, Cassandra Cain and Azrael have shown up. Why not Damian?
Ms.Marvel #3 (Marvel)
G. Willow Wilson (W) Takeshi Miyagawa (A)
I love the idea of this character being a ground level hero. I know Captain Marvel, and the previous Ms.Marvel were always right in the action, but it’s refreshing to see a hero so new dealing with things in their own neighborhoods. Good stuff.
Astro City #31 (Vertigo)
Kurt Busiek (W) Jesus Merino (A)
Every wonder what life is like for the living embodiment of fear? Haven’t we all? This issue answers all of those pressing questions.
Wolf #5 (Image)
Ales Kot (W) Ricardo Lopez Ortiz/Lee Loughridge (A)
Yay, a new arc of what is becoming a favorite series. We also get a nice hop into the future, as this issue takes place years after the last one. It also gets a fancy new artist. Ooh, me likey.
Nowhere Men #7 (Image)
Eric Stephenson (W) Jordie Bellaire (A)
WHAT?! WHAT?! HOLY SHIT! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR, HOLD ON… That’s better. I’ve been waiting for this comic for god damned forever. Just under two and a fucking half years ago, the last arc ended. You can see why I’m excited.
Uncanny Inhumans #4 (Marvel)
Charles Soule (W) Steve McNiven (A)
Sweet tap dancing Christ, this series has started off strong. I love me some Marvel, but I am really critical of the series. There are only ever a few that make the top three. Basically, you have to be Jonathan Hickman, but not Charles Soule. He isn’t Jonathan Hickman, he is Charles Soule. Also, you know, Steve McNivens art is well…FUCKING GORGEOUS. Seriously a friggan tornado of talent.
Batman #48 (DC)
Scott Snyder (W) Greg Capullo (A)
Did you see who that was? In the last issue? Like you know that person who is extremely important? I wonder how this will end. I doubt well.
Tokyo Ghost #5 (Image)
Rick Remender (W) Sean Murphy (A)
Giving up everything for the people they love seems to be a forte of Remender’s. That and crushing my soul. It’s okay, Sean Murphy is there to glue it together and sculpt it into something totally badass. Like with spikes and flamethrowers ‘n stuff.
On an ending note. Secret Wars made me sad and happy at the same time. These are the emotions Hickman makes me have. That is why I will stalk him. Keep posted for upcoming petition to stalk the life of one Jonathan Hickman. Post-haste.
