The pulse of the crowd was palpable. The swaying, sweating, screaming masses just wanted to exist in the best way. Lights flashed over head, painting technicolor photographs in the lead singers eyes. Occasionally a camera flash would cut through the calculated darkness. Sweat rolled down his chest as he gripped the microphone stand, readying himself for another death escaping bellow.

Archie #17 (Archie)

Mark Waid (W) Joe Eisma (A)

Man, I am just not really digging this arc. Normally, I’m all over this comic, but something about these last few issues isn’t sitting right for me. Oh well, it’ll get better, it has so far.

Ether #4 (Dark Horse)

Matt Kindt (W) David Rubin (A)

This story is great. It’s a crazy, fun, romp-filled adventure, painted over a depressing heart. It’s great, and you should be reading it.

Invincible Iron Man #4 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Stefano Caselli (A)

This comic packs a punch. Seriously. Crazy feels in these pages. What do you expect from a Bendis series?

Dead Inside #3 of 5 (Dark Horse)

John Arcudi (W) Toni Fejzula (A)

I love this fucking comic. It’s a phenomenal crime thriller and I can only hope that Arcudi does more stuff like this. He really shines here.

The Mighty Thor #16 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Russell Dauterman (A)

Let me just point out that Dauterman should win all sorts of awards for the character design in this series. The Shi’Ar gods look fucking amazing. A+. Get this dude into concepts for film, or you know, have him keep doing amazing work on great comics. Whatever.

Green Arrow #17 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Otto Schmidt (A)

This arc has been great. Beyond great, really, but what comes next is what is going to define this run. At least, that’s how I’m thinking. Looking forward to every issue they make me buy.

Daredevil #17 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Goran Sudzuka (A)

FINALLY WE GET SOME ANSWERS! Well, we’re on the path to get some answers at least. What is it with Matt Murdock and his toxic attraction to the wrong kind of women?

Old Man Logan #18 (Marvel)

Jeff Lemire (W) Andrea Sorrentino (A)

This series keeps surprising me. I’ve probably said that before, which makes me predictable, but not this book. Nope, this book is original, unlike me.

Uncanny Inhumans #19 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Aaron Kim Jacinto (A)

I really missed Maximus. I mean, he is the carrots to my applesauce. The biscuits to my dead parents. The ashes to my urn. The arbitrary thing to my other arbitrary thing. You get it. We in here.

Doctor Strange #17 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Chris Bachalo (A)

I think Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo have created an amazing character in Misery. I really think that this is a villian that can stand the test of time. Think about that, because they usually don’t. Kudos guys.

Batman #17 (DC)

Tom King (W) David Finch (A)

You done fucked up in a big, bad way Batman. This dude is an ego-maniacal mastermind. Why the fuck do you keep poking him? Just let him chill on his island. Leave the dude alone. We get it Bruce, you’re damaged, stop it.

Manifest Destiny #26 (Image)

Chris Dingess (W) Matthew Roberts (A)

THE FOG IS ALIVE! Okay, so I don’t know that for sure, but as a less talented writer-person, that’s where I would go. Actually I probably would never have come up with this idea for a comic, so I wouldn’t have even made it to this issue. So yeah, don’t believe everything people tell you.

Sex Criminals #16 (Image)

Matt Fraction (W) Chip Zdarsky (A)

YES! After just under a year of waiting, we get a new issue! WOOOO! I am super pumped about this, but guess what? It gets better. Fiona Staples is doing the XXX variant cover. I’m in love.

Kill Or Be Killed #6 (Image)

Ed Brubaker (W) Sean Phillips (A)

This series is seriously one of the best I have read in a very very long time. Do yourself a favor and drop in before the issues are impossible to find. Alternatively, you could wait and buy a digital copy and break my heart while you’re doing so. No pressure.

The crowd seemed like it was growing in response to his primal shouts. In the haze of dehydration and euphoria, no one realized the whole of the crowd had floated towards the ceiling slowly for a few minutes. They all hovered two feet off the ground, yet not one of the four hundred mesmerized patrons of the shitty hole-in-the-wall club noticed anything amiss. It was all going perfectly.
