He sat at his computer, God of the immense domain he had forged with code, blood, and tears. All the biggest names in gaming were in his chat room. He had unbelievable power. Endorsments from competitors looking for better rates on their channel’s bitrate. Money from competitors to “accidentally” drop voice chats from competitive games. Life was good.
Divinity III: Stalinverse #3 (Valiant)
Matt Kindt (W) Trevor Hairsine (A)
I am really hoping the next couple issues get me where I want to go. This is a great series. I just don’t dig this run nearly as much as the last two.
Black Panther #11 (Marvel)
Ta-Nehisi Coates (W) Brian Stelfreeze (A)
The last breaths of an incredible arc. I am very excited to see this comic moving forward. I only expect this series to get more and more intense. It’s proved it can do that exquisitely.
The Few #2 (Image)
Sean Lewis (W) Hayden Sherman (A)
Snuck a couple comics not that long ago, comics that I was going to pass on. That’s because I am a glutton for punishment and I love spending money. I really need new hobbies. That being said, this comic was awesome from the first issue. Excited to see if it keeps up the pace.
Astro City #41 (Vertigo)
Kurt Busiek (W) Brent Eric Anderson (A)
This is the 100th issue of Astro City! I know what you are thinking, “I can fucking read, guy, and that clearly says 41”. “I’m in a place where I really don’t need that kind of thinking in my life. So fuck off.” Would be my response to that.
Quantum Teens Are Go #1 (Black Mask)
Magdalene Visaggio (W) Eryk Dovovan (A)
Saw this comic and the art caught my eye. Always support smaller presses, seriously, go check this book out.
Hulk #3 (Marvel)
Mariko Tamaki (W) Nico Leon (A)
I love the way that they are handling this character. I think it means a lot to the integrity of the issue that they are tackling. Hulk has always been about mental health, this just platters that wonderful mix up for a modern audience. Great thinking.
Teen Titans #5 (DC)
Ben Percy (W) Khoi Pham (A)
Don’t you just want to pinch Damian’s little cheek? I love the dynamic they are building with this team. Not to mention the incredible talent on this book. If you haven’t scooped this, I feel bad for you, son.
Detective Comics #951 (DC)
James Tynion IV (W) Chistian Duce (A)
DUN DUN DUUUUN. The DC universe’s resident spooky cult of assassins are coming back to Gotham. Why they do that? Who knows? Probably Batman, that’s usually what they want.
Inhumans Vs X-Men #5 (of 6) (Marvel)
Charles Soule/Jeff Lemire (W) Javi Garron (A)
The fight that at least five people wanted. Fantomex vs Karnak. I’m excited about it, what about you? PROBABLY NOT AS EXCITED AS I AM.
Infamous Iron Man #5 (Marvel)
Brian Michael Bendis (W) Alex Maleev (A)
What is the true enemy of a narcissistic ego-maniac? His absent mother, obviously. Man, shit is getting Freudian in the worst ways.
Justice League of America #1 (DC)
Steve Orlando (W) Ivan Reis (A)
I picked up the rebirth issue of this comic and was blown away. Not to mention, in the last issue of Detective Comics, they tease at the real reason that Batman is starting all of these teams. Shit is going to get real.
Curse Words #2 (Image)
Charles Soule (W) Ryan Browne (A)
Picked up issue one on a whim. It was fucking hysterical. It’s a phenomenal concept with amazing interiors and color. Scoop this one while you can.
Thanos #4 (Marvel)
Jeff Lemire (W) Mike Deodato (A)
Soooo. With Thanos having his ass freshly handed to him, what else is next for the Mad Titan. Seriously, talk about falling from grace. This guy just keeps getting the shit kicked out of him. Now what? His son whoops his ass in twenty three pages.
Loose Ends #2 of 4 (Image)
Jason Latour (W) Chris Brunner (A)
This series is already amazing. You’d be a sucker not to try to pick this up. It oozes with grit and grim and tastes a little like blood. Dig it.
Old Guard #1 (Image)
Greg Rucka (W) Leandro Fernandez (A)
Who can pass up a good Rucka comic? Seriously, this dude is top tier. This one is about humans getting sick and tired of all these immortal asshole hanging out and generally getting up to some strange debauchery. They go to work hunting those bastards down. At least that’s what I get from the synopsis.
Wonder Woman #17 (DC)
Greg Rucka (W) Liam Sharp (A)
You guys feel a reckoning coming? I think I hear the horses of war on the horizon.
Spider-Man/Deadpool #14 (Marvel)
Joe Kelly (W) Ed McGuinness (A)
BAMF MEETS BAMF!
Outcast #25 (Image)
Robert Kirkman (W) Paul Azaceta (A)
Guys, this issue is only 25 cents. What the fuck? I’ll take it! Also new arc. But seriously, I’ll also take the money!
Descender #19 (Image)
Jeff Lemire (W) Dustin Nguyen (A)
Aw shit. Driller IS a real killer. Some people are mighty sore about that. To be fair, he gave them plenty of warning. This should surprise no one.
The Fix #8 (Image)
Nick Spencer (W) Steve Lieber (A)
After many delays, I am happy to see this one on my list again. Normally this many delays, this early on, is a bad sign, but it has maintained a phenominal standard of quality for every issue. I’ll take one more before I have to wait another two months for the start of the next arc.
Thomas got an alert for an incoming video message. This was strange because he was currently ghosting the server. No one should have been able to send him a message, let alone a video message. He hesitated as he moved the cursor over the answer call button. He clicked it an immediately saw something that made the hair on his neck stiffen. It was him, but from outside of his house. Before he could do anything the call had ended. Thomas felt a pain in is chest.
