Picture a life worth living. Not that yours is not, but picture a life worth extra-living. You know the lives I’m talking about. The same ones you see in advertisements, and posters, and sometimes in person. Lives where people aren’t doubting themselves, are genuinely happy. No cynicism, no hypocrisy. The perfect life.

Okay, I really know nothing about this comic besides the logline of the first issue and the pretty cover. Call this one a crap shoot. Who knows, it may be pretty good.
Aquaman #1 (DC)
Dan Abnett (W) Brad Walker (A)
I didn’t hate the Rebirth issue, in fact, I liked it. That being said, I’m hesitant to read an Aquaman comic. I realize he can be a badass, and I’ve read him before, but this comic looks to be more involved in the politics of Atlantis, and I’m not all that interested in that. Hopefully I’ll be eating my words.
Ms.Marvel #8 (Marvel)
G. Willow Wilson (W) Takeshi Miyagawa (A)
This is going to be a really cool issue if it is done right. That being said, this team is amazing, so of course it will be done right. Kamala is in the middle of the action, once upon a time, this fangirl watched from the sidelines, but this time she has to choose her allies and her enemies.
Dept. H #3 (Dark Horse)
Matt Kindt (W) Matt Kindt (A)
This series is really good. Seriously, kudos to Kindt, but we all knew he has talented (see below). Excited to see how this one developes.
The Mighty Thor #8 (Marvel)
Jason Aaron (W) Russell Dauterman (W)
Man, Aaron’s run on Thor has dealt with shady mega-corporations a lot. At one point I thought this would merely be an arc, but it turns out it has become the centerpiece of this comic. I’m all in.
Wonder Woman #1 (DC)
Greg Rucka (W) Liam Sharp (A)
Aw snap, this team is shaping up to make this comic one of the best ones out there. I am extremely excited to get the ball rolling with this one.
Detective Comics #935 (DC)
James Tynion IV (W) Eddy Barrows (A)
I absolutely loved the last issue of this one. It was incredible, and I love the weird team they are building. Who would have thought Clayface would be part of the bat family?
Doctor Strange #9 (Marvel)
Jason Aaron (W) Chris Bachalo (A)
Crazy shit is about to go waaaay down. Like darkest-pits-of-your-mind down. I’ll tell you what, these guys know how to spin a wicked yarn.
The Flash #1 (DC)
Joshua Williamson (W) Carmine Di Giandomenico (A)
The rebirth issue of this series contained on of my favorite lines of all time. Not to spoil it but The Flash has heard rumors about the Batcave. Either way, I’m glad this character is in highly capable hands.
Bitch Planet #8 (Image)
Kelly Sue DeConnick (W) Valentine De Landro (A)
Oh, sweet bananas it’s back. I’m going to have to go back and re-read all the issues to catch up again. Dammit I hate mid-arc hiatuses.
Rumble #11 (Image)
John Arcudi (W) James Harren (A)
NEW ARC! I am so glad this comic is back. It has more than earned a close place to my heart
Divinity II #3 of 4 (Valiant)
Matt Kindt (W) Trevor Hairsine (A)
Holy shit, this series has yet again floored me! It is absolutely incredible. If you aren’t reading this one then shame on you. Shame so hard.
The Autumnlands #11 (Image)
Kurt Busiek (W) Ben Dewey (A)
NEW ARC ALSO! This comic is so great. It really is. Then again, I am a bit of a Busiek fanboy. Shut-up, I don’t judge you.
Archie #9 (Archie Comics)
Mark Waid (W) Veronica Fish (A)
Time and time again, this comic proves to be a son of a bitch to not love. Seriously, I wager anyone, new reader or old, can pick up this comic and enjoy it. Try it. Throw comic books at strangers and see what happens.
Now realize that that perfect life is nothing but a frail fallacy. It is an easily cracked shell covering the same insecurities that lie in yourself. Even the ones you see in person are just masks covering the pain of a life filled with lies, no lie worse than the one told to self. Know that you are okay in your doubt. Those who don’t are truly in trouble.
