Hello again my friends. It is again time for me to list my comics obligatorily and pretend like you are interested in them. Who knows, maybe you really are. I’m getting good at this. Buckle your pants belts, it’s time for a journey into Top of the Stack.

IVAR_007_COVER-A_ALLEN

Ivar, Timewalker #7 (Valiant)

Fred Van Lente (W) Francis Portela (A)

Unfortunately, due to the shortage of comics this week, this series has gotten the short stick. It’s really been picking up, but it still isn’t my favorite. That being said, if this were a more reading packed week, it would definitely be higher on the list.

Frankenstein Underground #5 of 5 (Dark Horse)

Mike Mignola (W) Ben Stenbeck (A)

The finale to an amazing story. I am really excited to see where this goes, but knowing Mignola, I feel as if he is going to leave himself with just enough story to ensure he has to return to the character at some point.

the punisher 20

The Punisher #20 (Marvel)

Nathan Edmondson (W) Mitch Gerads (A)

The last issue of The Punisher. What does a man who has lived a life of revenge do in his last days? After he has rid the world of all the people he deems evil, after he has made amends. What is left for him but solitude, darkness? We shall see.

Wolf #1 (Image)

Ales Kot (W) Matt Taylor (A)

A new Kot series. This is sure to be just as complex and confusing as his other comics. Maybe I’m just not privy to that writing style, but I always feel like I’m one piece away from a puzzle that I need to finish. Maybe that’s why I keep coming back to him.

FiveGhosts_17-1

Five Ghosts #17 (Image)

Frank J. Barbiere (W) Chris Mooneyham (A)

It’s been a while since Barbiere has written an issue of this comic. The last issue was a special written by a guest writer and that was back in May. That being said, I am super excited for his return, although I suspect that one of the reasons he may have been on hiatus was to work on stuff for Marvel, so I’m not complaining, I mean, no more than usual.

old man logan 3

Old Man Logan #3 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Andrea Sorrentino (A)

The way they have been treating this character and the world he inhabits/inhabited is tremendous. They are paying great respect to the original Mark Millar story and I can only imagine he is proud for it to be tying into the main continuity. After Secret Wars Old Man Logan will be receiving his own self titles series, helmed by none other than Jeff Lemire. I’m sold.

Weirdworld #2 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Mike Del Mundo (A)

Talk about anticipation. The first series was, shall I say, weird. Weird in the best way possible. Impossible things happening, ludicrously funny moments mixed with crazy violence. If there was anyone to take this series and truly bring into the modern age of comics, it has to be Jason Aaron. With no news of whether or not this series is continuing as an ongoing after this, I am desperately hoping this fantasy acid trip isn’t going anywhere.

That is all for this tiny week! Seriously, that’s all. Go home. Be smart, or something. I don’t know.
